I had just a streak of blood when I went to the bathroom just a few minutes ago.

Should I call my midwife?

If it was me, I would. It could be something, it might not be anything. Could even be a UTI. For me, I'd rather make sure, so as not to be worrying unnecessarily.

Do you think you might have torn a bit having the BM? Could you tell where the blood came from? I'd take a baby wipe and see if I could find out exactly where it came from first.

Kathryn - could it have been from straining with the BM? I know I occasionally get blood-tinged wipes if I've had a hard BM.

Baby update! I had my 35 week appointment today =) June Bug's heart rate was 144, my BP was 106/74, urine was negative for protein/glucose, and my fundal height was 37 (a bit higher than last time, but it was a student measuring ). I've gained 28 lbs so far. June Bug is still head down (wuhoo!) and is still lying with his/her back toward my right (Lily - I'll post what the m/w said about positioning in the NCB thread!). I get to start my weekly visits now and they'll be swabbing for GBS at my next appointment (36 weeks) and then my 37 week one will be my home visit. I'm expected to have all my 'gear' ready from 36 weeks onward, so this is going to be a busy week gathering up all the things I'll need Oh!! And I got my new laundry detergent, so I can start doing baby laundry now and stripping my diapers! Wuhoo!

Lily - I can't believe how close you are!

I'm pretty sure it came from my vaginal opening. I drank some water and laid down. I've checked again and there's nothing, not even a hint of it. I just wonder if it's a way for my body to say "hey, slow down!" I think I move too much.

Thanks, Kati!

Here's my newest thing - seems he has moved further down, which of course makes me feel the need to pee even more often, but I guess he's putting quite a bit of pressure on my urethra...? I'm having a hard time getting it out. I have to rock back and forth on the toilet and let it dribble little by little. Is that normal? I hope I'm not going to go another 2 weeks having to pee like that! LOL. I also look much more like a duck today than ever.

I'm having to do that now with this one.... it also helps if I hold my tummy "up"....

Hmmm...I'd just lay down and rest then, and if there's any more, definitely call in the morning.

Kathryn, I agree with Donna. You probably just need to rest, but I'd watch to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Kim, so glad your appt. went so well! Thanks for the info.

I had a horrible nightmare last night. It was awful, I woke up so upset. The gist of it was I went in for my ultrasound and there was something wrong and we had to terminate the pregnancy (I'm not talking a "disorder" I mean something that there was no choice-remember this was a dream). I just bawled and bawled and bawled about how unfair it was and how it wasnt right. But I remember we went through and did it, and I had to face all the people asking about the baby and such and I had to tell them I wasnt pregnant anymore, and how I had all the baby stuff. And I was wondering if I could get pregnant again. It was awful...I know it was a dream but it just made me sick all over.

(((Erin))) What a horrible nightmare! Mine pg dreams usually involve giving birth to kittens or the baby turning into a kitten for some reason. The funny thing is in the dream I'm not upset at all about birthing kittens.

Well, I have a lot less pressure this am. I guess he moved up a bit while I was sleeping. Did anyone else have babies who were up and down that way toward the end? Some days it's like there's a bowling ball b/t my legs, then it goes away. Didn't have nearly as much cramping last night either.

LOL! In one of mine I gave birth to a tiny ugly little old man and was actually really relieved when he turned into a kitten.

I don't necessarily dream about anything in particular ... but I have woken several times to find one of our cats trying to suckle from my leaky gals!!!

This is the first "bad" dream I've had. It really disturbed me, I just cant shake the feelings that I felt when I woke up...it was all so real.

Erin, that sounds terrible!!!! I haven't had ANY pg nightmares - or any dreams about pregnancy or birth or anything ... actually maybe I had one - that I gave birth on the couch and that was it. I dreamed CONSTANTLY throughout the night in my first trimester, but that went away and now I don't remember any of my dreams anymore. It's quite restful!

Kathryn - I agree - sounds like you maybe just did too much. Put your feet up today and rest

Well, today I'm going to try and figure out how my dryer works! LOL

Kathryn- How are you feeling today?

Erin- Sorry about the bad dream. I'm praying those feelings will go away and you will be filled with peace today instead.

Kim- Good luck with getting prepared. Sounds like you will have a busy week!

Sarah (Peculiar)- How are you feeling these days?

Well, 20 weeks today! So that's exciting. I have my US on Thursday, which I am looking forward to. We're going to be with my family this weekend, so it will be fun having pictures to show everyone. I'm curious how my little sisters are going to react. Otherwise the belly is just getting bigger, baby is still kicking away. And only 3 more night shifts!!!!

Sarah (Peculiar)- How are you feeling these days?

thanks for asking. mostly just tired...not as sore as other pregnancies, but I can tell that my kidney's aren't functioning too well this time compared to other times either. My feet are now pretty much staying swollen to about twice their size no matter what I do to try to prevent that. My BP seems to have leveled off about 130-135/80-85...not that great (esp for me since my normal non pregnancy BP is about 60/35) but not at their "mark" of it being a problem yet (their mark is 140/90, so it's staying right under that). This is the first pregnancy though that I haven't needed to use extra pillows when I sleep...and although my carpel tunnel is still there it definitely isn't as bad as it was the last few times. Most days I can still do things with my hands, just not so much with just my fingers. This pregnancy has gone fairly fast so far...but this next month may start slowing down and dragging on. At least this time I don't have to mentally prepare for possibly going to 43 weeks (my norm if not induced)...my dr for one won't let me go that long and for two I wouldn't allow myself to go that long with how horribly my kidneys and BP are doing right now. My dr really doesn't want me to go more then 41...and she actually told me that she would prefer me to not even go all the way to 40 if possible. She will be very happy that my mom can be here earlier then we originally thought, so we don't have to go beyond the 40 mark. Tomorrow I am 34 weeks....so in the last stretch now...6 weeks from now we will have a baby!!!

in some ways I can't either, but in other ways it has been harder and longer...esp these last few weeks because my DD for my other pregnancy right before this was May 4th...so by now that baby would have been here.

Sarah, I hope these last six weeks fly for you! Hopefully you won't have time to feel too uncomfortable, you'll just be looking forward to having your mom come and meeting your new baby. I'm praying for you!

Erin
- Have you been feeling any movement yet? I just found out one of my neighbors is about 3 1/2 weeks behind me, and she hasn't felt anything yet. I know she's getting anxious.

I've felt just a little bit, not a lot though. I felt a definite "thump" a few weeks ago, and my tummy feels all "fluttery" when I lay down at night. I woke up suddenly the other night and I am pretty sure it was another "thump" from the baby...I just feel like it was. I'm really ready to feel definite movement though.

thanks Erin. it's also been a hard week because Paul didn't know what he was throwing away, but he threw away the positive pregnancy test I had saved from last time (the only thing I had from that pregnancy). By the time I knew it the trash was already out and he couldn't remember which bag it would be in.

(((Sarah))) I'm sorry it's such a hard month for you (especially last week). I remember my mom having such mixed emotions in the same situation. She mourned for her little one in heaven, but was so happy to have my little sister who wouldn't be here if she hadn't had the m/c.

Sarah - I'm glad that some things don't seem to be too difficult on your body this time! Not too good about your kidney function though . And (((hugs))) for getting past your due date for your heaven-baby. I can't even imagine the emotional roller-coaster this past few weeks must have been for you!

Kathryn, you haven't posted or logged on since last night. Praying everything is okay.

((((((((((((Sarah)))))))))))) I well remember how hard my last pregnancy was...praying for you. May you bring forth this new life with laughter, as Levi was.

Erin, I hate bad dreams. I have a lot while pregnant too.

On top of my sinus infection/allergy junk, I also have a yeast infection...and I had it before I even started antibiotics. Grrr. I miss being able to take Diflucan. The cream stuff is so yucky.
