Yeah, hopefully in another week and a half I can start shopping!! I was teasing her about getting a matching baby carrier and she had NO problem with that! She's just as excited about me having a baby as I am about her wedding!!

I do!!! I read that about 1 meter or 5 feet is a safe distance, so I always back away to that!! I don't care if it's paranoid, I don't want a microwave-induced mutant baby!!

Where are you getting your conversion rates from, lol?

1 metre = 3ft, not 5.

LOL, Manda! Well I was meaning a range ... but ya know, I figured it was close enough. Blame the swiss cheese brain! Like earlier when I drove to the hardware store for my dad and pulled in and realized I had neither purse NOR wallet. Yeah. So I had to drive all the way back (now terrified that I'd get pulled over and have no license AND I'm driving a borrowed car) and then there again. Sigh.

Erin - a week and a half is June 3?? Breathe, Kim, breathe! LOL That's awesome that your friend's so excited for you and that she's down with the cool baby carrying ideas!

ETA: I haven't had a cold in so long that I'm concerned about the amount of snot I'm producing ...

With the whole microwave thing I always stand back but my doc said that as long as it shuts properly (meaning you don't have to shove a wooden spoon in the door to make it stay shut) then it should be fine. I still stand back though. My microwave is at belly button level so i just be extra cautious. I've got another question for you all. My doc put me on a Antibiotic a while back for a UTI and the bottle said to talk to my doc if pregnant. Well I added it up and i'm pretty sure I WAS prego at the time. I didn't take all the pills cuz i have a really forgetfull mind and just forgot them i guess but my question is - should i be concerned? It has me a nervous wreck! Any opinions would be great.

It depends how far along you were. If you hadn't yet missed your period, then it's fine, since the babe hasn't yet implanted in the uterus to have access to your bloodstream until around the time when you first miss your period. You can talk to your doc at your first visit about it though, if you're concerned. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it!

Hi again, I skimmed through the posts and all Ican say is thanks for the prayers and cute dress Erin. Everything else went in my eyes and out the head I think.

I am so tired, and worried. what a rough couple of days it has been. I am starting to feel some better. They got me off the mag and put me on a pill of somesort (can't remember name) to keep the contractions away. I got my last shot of steroids about an hour ago. And I am now in my own room, not a L&D room. So all this seems to be a good sign. I am completely mad at myself for not being more prepared. I didn't have my hospital bag packed, no carseat, nothing ready... ugh! But my lovely dh did good packing my bag and my work went and bought the carseat just in case we need it in the next few days. I hope they at least send me home to be on bedrest...I hate hospitals! My dr. will make her rounds in the morning so I guess we shall see. I will keep you guys posted. The internet keeps going in and out here so I am hoping this post goes through.

Thanks for the prayers.

Don't be mad at yourself and beat yourself up -- that will only add to the overall stress. A lot of people don't even think about prepping a bag until closer to week 37, and you are still a fair distance from that.

If they do decide to send you home for bedrest, make sure you adhere to that!!! That means if you don't have to use the bathroom, you don't go anywhere (other than doctor appointments!) Thinking that "oh, doing this shouldn't cause problems" is what can make things worse (I say this having watched a friend on full bedrest for two pregnancies -- deciding to move around more than recommended brought on pre-term labour).

And if you end up staying there, make sure dh brings you lots of stuff to help ward off the doldrums ... and have him bring dinner once in a while as well (even cheese sandwiches can taste better than hospital food at times!)

Kristin- Praying! Just do your best to relax and try to find some fun things to do while still resting!

Microwaves- now I don't worry b/c ours is new and also mounted up above the stove, so I don't think my short self could ever be close enough, but when I was pg the first time, I did stand back from the one at work that was old and on a countertop.

Stephanie...yes you need to talk to your dr, but I wouldn't be too worried. If anything though I would say you need to talk to them to make sure that they watch for signs of another UTI since you didn't finish your meds that round. Many women have UTI's though and are given meds for them while pregnant...so that really isn't much of an issue. You REALLY REALLY should finish any course of antibiotics you start though. (Also if you are proned to yeast infections you may want to start some probiotics too cause antibiotics can sometimes cause YI's to start up)

the changing table...Janine linked to it...so I don't have the link to it (maybe the baby chat thread?). However I will say I don't think they are very safe...I have had the front of a crib fall down when I leaned over it way too many times to trust that it could handle that kind of thing on it (along with the baby's weight) and still be safe.

Our microwave is at head level - I always stand back b/c I'm paranoid about brain tumors! LOL! I blame DH for talking about work too much (neuropathology).

Erin, I LOVE the dress!!

Kristin, keep us updated. We're praying for you.

Well, I'm really hoping all the on and off contractions I'm having are getting a lot of my body's work done ahead of time...

LOL! That's true - dh says he must be a momma's boy since doesn't want to leave me.

I'm sure he'll be perfectly cooked however long he stays.

Dh joked that when ds came just past 42 weeks, that he wouldn't be baked, he'd be burned (especially since I created a psycho-hot omelette to try to smoke him outta there ... and it worked!)

EgyptianPrincess, I believe PureJoy is a nurse. Not positive though.

I am...and had that little one yesterday. We're getting less babies and kids now since the sicknesses are a lot less this time of year, which is nice for the kiddos.

Kristin
- Praying for you! And please don't worry about not preparing as well as you would have liked. The Lord knew you wouldn't be prepared yet, and He also knew you would be where you are right now. So things will work out. ((hugs))

Erin
- Very cute dress!

Had my dr's appointment this afternoon. She said all the US stuff looks good, my BP was 114/60, weight is now up a total of 14 lbs (which I'm happy about), and baby's heartbeat was 150-160's, so she said too that according to the old wives' tales, it should be a girl. Guess we'll have to wait and see! I have to catch myself from saying "she" when I refer to the baby though. I also went to Babies R Us for awhile this afternoon...and changed a lot of what I was going to do for the baby's room. I'll have to post about it in the other thread.

Brandy: Here's the link. We decided against it because the front bar "could" collapse like Sarah said (Jason mentioned that before I told him what Sarah said) so I'm not sure. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5683995

(My link thing isn't working - sorry Op's!)

KRISTIN:
Girl!!! Remember my story? I completely understand! That's why I tease the ladies about their hospital bags!!! I had nothing done! I was in shock. I went on bedrest in my 31st or 32nd week. Jadon was bon 36 weeks and 5 days. Let me know if you end up on bedrest. I would entrust you (and I mean ENTRUST) you with my 5 Seasons of Alias if you'd like to entertain you. Also, know that you really need far less than you think. Have a place for your baby to sleep, a carseat to take him home, diapers, wipes, and a few pieces of clothes. That's the major things. Pro's are a place to change him (if you want that) and a home that's in order. Is his nursery done? Have you been able to do any of your 'nesting' yet? I'm here if you need to talk. I was on complete bedrest for a MONTH. I made it and so will you. Please be sure to follow their directions.

Morning ladies! Been a while since I posted though I do read through the forums daily just to see how everyone is doing !
I had an appointment with the my MW yesterday and everything seems to be humming along. I'm 23 weeks today and have gained 17 pounds (really packing it on ), my BP was 120/78 and our baby's heart beat was all over the place (130-155) depending on how much kicking he/she was doing. Before yesterday I wasn't quite sure I could feel the baby move but with the help of the doppler and my MW pointing out kicks I can now identify them! I guess since my placenta is anterior is makes it harder to notice when the baby is moving, it definitely had me somewhat nervous!
So I signed up for a 12 week Bradley course but I'm not able to get into one till I'm 31 weeks! The instructor said that was fine and I should be more than prepared by the time our little goober arrives !

PureJoy - I never got to comment on your belly and baby pics but they're both adorable, you have the cutest little belly! Based on the heart rate I've heard before and just my own "feelings" I think our baby is a girl too! My MW on the otherhand was kind of thinking boy just cause the HB yesterday was in the 130's at times! Oh well, I guess that's the point of keeping it a surprise !

Royal Kim - You're belly is looking so great and I can't see any stretch marks either (lucky girl)!

Lily - Happy 1 day past your due date !

Scarlett

LOL @ the heartrate thing. My baby must be both!!! At the beginning of my pregnancy, the heartrate was in the 160s-170s, now it's consistently in the 140s. I guess we'll see soon!

Kim, according to what I've heard 140 is still in the girl range. Anything 140 and above is supposedly girl and below 140 is supposedly boy. This has been true for my little girl her heart beat has always been between 160 and 140. Also any "gender prediction" tests I take online for fun have always said girl as well. I know they aren't accurate, but it's kind of fun.

Kristin, praying for you and your little one.

I had a ton of contractions last night. They were strong enough to keep my awake most of the night. They've tapered off quite a bit now though.

Question, for those of you who have already given birth, how long after you felt you "dropped" until you went into labor? I think the baby dropped about a week and a half ago. Everyone keeps telling me that most people go into labor within 2 weeks of dropping. I know this isn't true for everyone, just wondering how accurate it is.

DH is going to be gone over night next week from Tuesday till Wednesday. So I hope she decides to wait at least another week. We shall see!

Hi ladies! I didn't see a 'stalking' thread for Brandy so I made one.

here it is:
http://forums.christianity.com/m_3451623/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#3451623

I get the honor of being her contact so I'll make sure that thread stays updated when she either loses her breath through contractions or is standing in a puddle. LOL
