If you're that concerned, perhaps WHILE YOU ARE RESTING NOW WITH YOUR FEET UP, you could make up some basic lists for him of things that need doing, when they need doing, and, if necessary, how to do them. (I went to the USA when my dd was 2 months old, and I left my husband a list for each day of all the things that would need doing for the house, our 2 children and our animals). Maybe you could also get him to buy in some frozen TV dinners that he just needs to heat in the oven (or some more simple cans of soup, lol).
