Well, it is a rather odd dream Ryanne... I only had dreams like that when I was pregnant. I think next time I'm going to write them down, I'm sure that would be good for a laugh.

ORIGINAL: PrincessDonna Those on #2 or more...do you have the new baby give gifts to the older siblings too? Yes, but it is usually something along the lines of a dollar store colouring book and crayons, so the older ones have something to do while Mommy feeds the new bambino. All of the older kids go with Daddy to Walmart and pick out a stuffy from them to the new baby. (Our Walmart has a Fun Factory where you "adopt" an animal and stuff it as full as you'd like ... so they do nice and soft for the new babies ... and as the kids get older, they take them back in to be firmed up with more stuffing)

Yay Erin ... you start into double digits tommorrow. (I'm at 38 days left ... but I'm hoping for fewer ... just so I can finally stay out of the bathroom for more than 15 minutes! Seeing my feet again would be good too)

Those on #2 or more...do you have the new baby give gifts to the older siblings too? I was thinking about doing that because I had read on a couple of websites that it was a good step towards easing any potential rivalry issues. Giving something that will entertain the older sibling is a good idea - I hadn't thought of that. I haven't really thought a whole lot about what to get yet... I just got back from my prenatal. I can't believe that at my next appt. I will only have 10 more weeks until the due date. The baby is kicking away like crazy today - the midwife's fetascope got kicked a couple of times! The heart tones were 164, and everything else looked fine. Next month she will be doing an iron test on me I'm not a big bleeder, so my last pregnancy she had to poke my finger several times to get it to bleed.

Erin - congrats on getting to double digits tomorrow. Now, you may repeat a few of those, like 1 over and over like I did but you will get the baby out some day! HAHA...but yea, he'll come out eventually. I'm WAAYYY closer than I was in February!

I just found out that dh's cousin is planning another pregnancy. She has #6 just after I had #4 ... she's always asking if I'm "ever" going to catch up, LOL ... I keep telling her to stop getting pregnant and give me a chance!!! Well, it turns out that she is going to be a surrogate for a couple who can't carry children ... so she is going to have embryos implanted in the fall. She is super excited about this (so am I!) She LOVES being pregnant, but says she is definitely looking forward to still being able to sleep after delivery, with no 2am feedings or diaper changes! I pray everything works out well for both dh's cousin, and the childless couple.

ORIGINAL: Brandy I LOVE seeing my feet!!! LOL...I am sooo looking forward to that!! as well as being able to wax my legs and other parts while I can "see" them and not have to pant for a breath! had my appointment today.. its supposed to be my last one before next wed... but I am going to try to see if I can book something for monday with the doctor who will do the c section just so its a reminder of who I am really cause today I saw my doctor who will NOT be there. also told me that they will do the circumcision the following day which I was glad to find out about. I did forget to ask him if I was ok for having a massage tomorrow as I had booked it and thought maybe I was too close to the due date?! I might ring up in the morning... but i *THINK* I should be ok?! I went and saw my friend today who had twin girls... I was soooo overwhelmed seeing her with 2 babies ... it made ME scared for next week and I am only having one!!! but they were 5 lbs each so it was weird since my first was a big 8 lb 14oz so am used to chunky babies... I didn't even hold them cause I was too scared! Sherry

yeah am happy about it.. that's what we did with my first.... why wait for the 8th day? for biblical reasons? I think its good cause they kind of "feel" it or hurt for less......besides...my ob/gyn will be the one doing it not the pediatrician....

I can't remember why they wait (it's not really relevant to me as, like most parents in the UK, we didn't have our son circumcised) - but maybe one of them will see it here and answer you. I think Sarah (peculiar_lady) is one of them.

The reason most people around here wait until the 8th day isn't because of Biblical reasons ... it is that by the 8th day, the body is producing it's own vitamin K to help with the clotting and whatnot, so that the babes don't need to receive the vit K injection. As for the question about the massage ... I know a lot of moms who have a massage the day before they have the baby ... it isn't a problem. You just need to make sure the masseuse knows ahead of time that you are pregnant - it can cause them to change which oils they use, and they typically will alter the way the table sits (a lot of massage tables have a centre spot which lowers to accommodate preggy bellies). I *loved* having a massage when I was pregnant!

thanks Kara for the explanation.. I knew it was something like that. I know a lot of the ladies here are very knowlegable about shots and stuff.... I definitely booked a prenatal massage so I hope they will be ready! I NEED IT!....and manda... I know if a lot of people in Australia and here in the USA who do NOT circumcise their boys. But for me its also a more cultural thing (being Egyptian and all)... back in the old old days.. they used to circumcise GIRLS in Egypt... to make them not "stray" when their hormones kicked in.... thank the almighty God my father was a modern man who did NOT let ANYONE do that!...also its more popular with the Muslims rather than the Christians.... its all kind of weird!

You may want to call the masseuse the morning of the massage and remind them how far along you are, just to insure they are fully prepared ...

A massage sounds delightful, EgyptianPrincess. Enjoy! quote:
Karaboo2 You just need to make sure the masseuse knows ahead of time that you are pregnant I don't know why but I found this a funny comment. I guess because it must be completely obvious considering how far along EgyptianPrincess is.
