Bagel - thank goodness your dh is OK. I'll pray that he is fully recovered soon. That must've been very frightening!

Dh called a bit ago & asked me what I am doing Thursday morning at 8am. I said "nothing, that I know of why?". He just found out that his squadron has the opportunity to go see the new Indiana Jones movie at the new plush theater!! It'll be $10 per person but includes ticket, a drink & popcorn. We paid $9 each, for just the admission. the other night for Caspian (at the same theater). Now, we're trying to figure out if we should take ds or not. It's PG13, so I don't think we'd take dd (she's only 10). Only thing is he' hasn't seen the 1st 3 movies yet. We have them on DVD, but when we tried to watch the 1st one with the kids quite a while back, they both got too scared & we turned it off. I think he'd be OK now, but wonder if we'll have time for him to watch them before then. I am thinking we could ask a friend if dd could spend the night with them on Wed. night, then she'd have something special to look forward to also.

((((((((((((Mr. Bagel))))))))) Yikes! I bet he remembers to drink up next time!

Okay...so I'm a big whimp. I got my seed packets out, got the shovel and rake out of the garage...and then decided it was too blasted cold to be playing in the dirt today. Came in and took a steaming hot shower instead and am having a hot chocolate.

Cool, Amy!

Bagel-That's scary. I'm glad the friend was able to get him to the ER.

Amy- You'll have to let us know how you like the movie. We love Indiana Jones. I hope this is as good as the older ones.

Hello again to everyone. We just got back form Florida, where my dd Sam and our dfs Michael graduated high school with the rest of our private school. It was a wonderful weekend.

Micheal had never been to Florida, and so that made it a graduation trip too.

I hope to catch up on all that's been happening this month soon. Blessings to all!

Bagel--YIKES!!! Uh, was he wearinga helmet? If not, please do get him one.

For the record, ds2's bike is still under lock and key...

Donna--if it makes you feel better, I took a nap this afternoon. With the electric blanket on "high".

It's chilly and windy here too. Ash and I were out picking rabbit food (some people call that "weeding" ) until we decided it just wasn't fun anymore with all the wind. Dh did mow the side of the barn real quick, so we raked that as well. All rabbits have been fed a bunch of green food and we have 2 buckets to pass out tomorrow.

We have small group tonight. I don't want to go. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth dealing with dh if I don't go. He will be in a mood, and it's sometimes easier just to do it than to put up with him if I don't.

actually, he wasn't on his bike at the time that he fainted, so he wasn't wearing his helmet. I certainly would have helped if he had been though

Yikes, bagel! So glad your dh is okay. I was helping a friend cram for a nursing exam on metabolic disorders this past fall, and until then I wasn't aware of how very dangerous dehydration truly is.

Thank God he is okay!

Y'all don't even want to know what the temperature is here! It's actually too hot for this time of year (IMO that is). I'm thinking we may've broken some records today. There was one town in SWOK (nearer to Sarah) that was 102 today! (We need a sweating smace!)

Well, we decided that ds can go to the new Indiana Jones movie with us. I got a hold of one of dd's best friend's mom & they are going to take her home with them after church Wed. night and she'll get to sleepover! They'll even bring her back on Thursday & make sure she gets her schoolwork done if I send it with her!! Couldn't have worked out better! Now, dd gets to do something special, we get to see the movie & school will still get done!!

I'm glad it's all working out with the movie, Amy.

Joe seems to have hit the February slump and just stayed stuck there. Even though he's done with Spanish and Geometry for the year, he still managed to drag his few remaining subjects out and not get school done until around 4 or 5. I hope he does well on the Chemistry test tomorrow. That will be one more thing out of the way. A big part of it is that he hates to write. He drags the day out so that there isn't time left for much writing. Well, the joke is on him because he's going to be writing all summer.

well, they said it was supposed to get up to about 93° today...but I haven't checked to see what it actually got to...maybe I should do that. It was H-O-T...that's for sure!!! Hubby went out this evening to mow the grass...and in less then 30 minutes had soaked his t-shirt and decided it was a good time to throw on some shorts and jump in the pool for a few minutes (even though the water isn't quite ready for swimming yet...still needs a little tweaking).

ok...so according to weather underground's web site, it was 91° about 7:30...so I would not be shocked if it got up to over 100° this afternoon. To me it doesn't seem so bad, because the humidity isn't too bad (mid 30% range)...where I grew up in TX (the swamps right by Louisiana) it is normal for the humidity to be up over 90% all the time, and I have seen it as high as 110% (I never knew it could go over 100% until then!!!). So this dry heat isn't so bad...lol. Of course I was just sitting on the swing, not working out in it...lol

I hope they do a good job of keeping the guys in basic training well hydrated.

Sarah - we lived in AL for 3 years, so I think the heat is not so bad here too (it's better than that humidity any day! ). Unfortunately, hormones are making me hotter than normal lately (well added weight doesn't help either). I'm hoping if we have a hot May, that the summer won't be so bad. Well, I can hope can't I?

ETA - Sue, I'm sure they will be pumping the fluids when working the guys in basic!

ROFLOL...if only you knew!!!!! Paul says they would have to drink a certain amount of water when he was in training...they would keep them well hydrated for sure (and not too well hydrated, cause that can be a problem too if you drink too much water). That's definitely one thing every soldier learns well!!!

Have you heard from your son yet about his apt about his knee?

yeah, doesn't help with me either right now...but last pregnancy I was a whole lot "hotter" all the time then this time around....actually the one before that too. Last time I was as cold as I have been this time was when I was pregnant with Hannah. I don't know what it is, but I am just not getting as hot this time around (and I don't think the weather has anything to do with it....I was pregnant with Emma in dead of winter in Germany and still hot all the time)

No word on the knee at all. Actually, no calls or letters since a week ago Saturday. We figure all the letters from family should be starting to reach him now. We hope to hear something soon, but in the meantime, we figure no news is good news.

My mom grabbed sandwiches and we all went to sit on the shore. It was SO nice, but we had to come back to the real world.

I had a very frustrating day at work--no one would answer my questions, show me what I needed to know, or tell me where to find what I was looking for. This makes it very difficult to get things done. I did rearrange two giant filing cabinets (they are each about 3.5 ft wide, with four drawers apiece). I was actually sore when I was finished.

Anyone know a good website to practice working with negative numbers? Especially in algebraic equations?

If'n y'all with the heat could send it this-a way, that would be great! It's still in the 50's, highs in the 60's. That's not bad, except I'm still waiting for the lake to warm up! My first triathlon is in early June. I need to get back into the lake to train. I am so not into chipping through a layer of ice so I can swim.

Jennifer (or anyone else who does any sewing!)--Do you know where I can get "no slip" elastic? This stuff has strings of rubber band woven in, so it sticks to your skin and won't let the pant leg ride up. I have three running skorts (compression shorts with a skirt) that I love, except for the fact that the shorts tend to ride up. I'm going to try regular "no roll" elastic in one pair to see if that helps at all.

I had a terrible swim this morning. I was supposed to do a speed workout but there wasn't an ounce of speed in me. Ended up doing 1500yds steady. Ds1 and I will go for a ride as soon as it dries up just a bit. We may have to wait until afternoon.

I'll get the kids out in the yard today & we'll blow NorthEast for you His!!! The kids said the dogs can help too! Of course, we are in OK, so the wind is blowing today!

My back feels better so far this morning! I took a hot bath last night & that seemed to help! Gotta find the staple gun, because some of the tarps on the fence are coming loose. Don't want any more broken nails. We really need to try to use the dremel on Stoli's nails this weekend! We have our last MOPS today. Better go eat something & get dressed.

Make sure you blow the warm air hard enough that Hazel doesn't keep it all. We'd like some here too.

I bought some strawberry bulbs (never knew they came from bulbs...but anyway) from my sister for a fundraiser. But I don't want to plant them this year. The package says plant in the ground ASAP or put in the veggie drawer in the fridge. Should I put them in the fridge until next year?? Or the freezer?

Donna--Why aren't you wanting to plant them this year? I'd probably go ahead and plant them this year, then move to where ever next year. Leaving something in the fridge for a year just sounds kinda gross to me.

I can not get moving this morning!

Rebekah wants to grow strawberries, but I couldn't find any seeds, maybe it is because you have to get bulbs. huh.

I like the crabs, but timothy's crab is way too much like Timothy. Remember that I said that he was hyper? We got them Saturday. Well we came back from Sunday Dinner and Jack was gone! We do have his tank covered so we were really puzzled. His shell was just not there. We tore apart all the house around the tank even though we couldn't imagine how he climbed out. We also checked the fish tank which was next to their tank. No Jack. I started digging through all there sand and knocked one of the larger shells over and there was jack, shell and all, in another larger shell.

Yesterday, Russ picked me up from Dance practice, and told me that Jack has escaped the tank completely and no one can find him. We tore the Library corner apart looking for him. I had given up and was about to go to bed when I found him in a hallway 20 feet away from his tank! I still don't know how he got out of that tank. Russ gorilla glued the top to the tank on the side that has the climbing wall. he had better stay put!

Poor Jack though, he was so happy to be found that he came out to greet me when ever I picked him up and let me get the dust bunnies off him.

Donna, did you know that a heating pad on one side of the tank goes a long way to keeping them warm when it is a bit too cool?
