I'm glad it went well, Ellie.

AARRGGHH!!! I am so frustrated with my blessing's face right now. We had gotten things cleared up and her face was looking great. She was fine when she went to bed last night. She woke up this morning and one of her eyes was again red, swollen and puffy.[:@]

Dh does not want me to take her anywhere until her face clears up-so we still can't swim, can't go to the community fest tomorrow and I guess it's a good thing I didn't sign her up for a VBS this next week because she would not be able to do that either. I hope her face is clear by the end of next week, because there is a VBS I'm sure she would enjoy that starts on the 9th.

LOL So I am the mean non-comformist mother, as usual.

Jen, that's OK. I am going to be one next week. The plan for the last 2 days of Ds's school- Thursday night- program and Graduation with a school sleepover after that. Friday-breakfast, clean the school, and head for one the kid's houses to have a party and swim in the pond.
Well, the sleepover is OK-just 'cause there are NO girls in his class![:D]
Dh and I both told him that he is NOT swimming in a pond! Dh said that he would probably get sick. I was thinking the same thing...kind of weird, right?

Narnia, hope her face clears up. BTW, ya just made me miss Missouri. I guess it is the beginning of VBS season there!!! Ds used to go to as many as he could find![:D]

Judy--just curious what you have against swimming in a pond?

Just got back from the lake. Another 30min swim. My race is next weekend, and I feel like I need to get all the open water swimming in that I can. This morning I ran hill repeats. Meaning, I ran up a hill, then back down. Eight times. This works out well. I drop the kids at the skate park, run my warm up, run the hill, run my cool down, the whole time never being more than 1/4mile from the kids.

Zoe - praying everything gets resolved with your Grandma & you get to go visit soon!

Ellie - so glad the meeting went well!!![:)]

I realized when I dropped the paperwork off to the lady for Scout camp that I hadn't bought any merit badge books for ds for camp![:@][:@] Luckily, a friend has 3 of the 4 he needs & we can borrow them. I was going to send dh to the scout shop to buy the other one, but they are out of it. Actually, they only had 1 copy of 1 of the 4 that we needed! So, I downloaded the requirements & worksheets online & printed them out for him to take. The books he's being lent may have old requirements in them. Hopefully, that will do - guess it will have to! Gotta go do some laundry & try to straighten up the house.

I am also wondering what's wrong with swimming in a pond? We do it all the time. What makes you think he'd get sick?

His, I don't need to guess which kid will show up on my doorstep. I'll buy an extra jar of peanut butter, and since he's such a big boy he can use a real shovel on the ditches. We've got about 250 feet to dig, and it needs to go down 4 feet. [:D]

We spent most of the day at the zoo, and then the boys played laser tag. The girls didn't want to play so we ran a few errands in the area. Patrick has all sorts of ideas for opening a laser tag place up here. I told him to work them up and we'll see what we can do. He wants to try something with infrared lights in light sabers. I think the place they normally play would allow him to test it out. You can rent the whole thing by the hour, so if we did that I think he could take the sabers in. I'm trying to encourage him to at least try it - he's kind of been rattling around not knowing what he really wants to do with his life, and this is the most excited I've seen him about anything.

Let's hope his excitement will turn into a passion about something that will be a good career fit for him. I'm trying to get Mr. Manly interested in becoming some sort of doctor, like a doctor of physical therapy or some other speciality that requires touching people and helping them physically. He loves people, likes to figure things out and wants to touch everyone and everything. He hasn't slowed down in this at all and is nearly nine years old. I think he would do well at physical therapy, eye doctor or a dermatologist that does laser therapy to remove tatoos. That's gonna be big business in about ten years. They make good money and there is not emergency, on-call work.
