Hmmmm, that sounds like a good idea. I will mention that to her tomorrow. It makes sense that once it is back in place it should be held in that place for a couple of days. I guess I will see what she says. Thanks for mentioning that.

You are welcome. I thought it made a bit of sense, but usually when I come up with things like that and bring them to my doc or whoever it is, they tell me I think too much.

Yes, I am glad it is Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This week is the last regular week of school, so it is almost over!!!!!!!!!! Next week is 3 days, the week after that is a full week, but it is "Spirit Week" which means that things are not quite normal and then we have the last week which includes a day spent playing games with the whole school. 2 and half more weeks- I can do this

Okay, I need to get off of here and get ready for the day.

Tracy ~ You sound like me...I know just enough about medical stuff to be dangerous (and to overthink everything!) Great pic of your kids by the way!

Trish ~ Yes, I'm very glad that it's Thursday...one more day closer to Friday...it's been a long week!

Catherine ~ hope your "Monday" goes ok ;)

Beth ~ Hope you have a fantastic summer!

Just wanted to check in and say hello...about to head to an apartment association meeting for lunch (my atty is the guest speaker, and I wanna go support her even though I really don't have time to go this month!)

I drive my doctors nuts. I ask so many questions that I almost have them begging for mercy by the end of my sessions.

Nicole, I hope your get to feeling better

Trish, I am sorry your going threw a rough time, I will keep ya my prayers... maybe when you see your specialist can be helpful.

Woohoo! Stacy thats great that your car works agian and ac lol I remeber for 2 years I drove around in car that had no ac... and it was really old car so you couldnt really fix the problem lol it was tough...but atleast I had heat during the winter

Beth, hows all the packing and getting things prepared going?

Hey I hope everyone's Thursdays going well... mine is going good...I actually got sleep with out waking up numerous times lol so that was nice. Last night I was trying to find this chord and I dropped this heavy little glass thing on my foot and it hurt and kinda burned some... I wasnt even wearing shoes or socks... and then I seen this purple spot pop up...which is still there today So Im hoping its just brusied.... and nothing else but then agian i dont think you can really do much if theirs a fracture or something... because of where its located But today I got this letter in mail saying my health insurance is terminated in july of this year... but since I turned 18 places told me it was canceled and such because I wasnt in school...and all that... So all this time if i had to go dentist or doctor i had been paying for it out of pocket.... So now im just kinda like

I just found out something interesting. In January I did a big project and presentation on AIDS dementia complex for neuroscience. I think I had around 20 sources, if you count the ones for graphs and pictures also. Anyway, I randomly contacted someone at a nearby university so I could research some stuff about the complex, and a few minutes ago I realized that one of my sources in the paper was partly written by him (I took graphs out of a book he'd co-authored).

My mom said it's a sign. Lol. It is kind of odd though, that I randomly found that book and randomly found him, but they're both connected...with all the books and people there are in the world.

Jennifer, that stinks!

I avoid doctors most of the time so I never worry about asking too many questions. If they want to prescribe me something I say no because too many times doctors have prescribed me something I am allergic too and I end up in the hospital.

I feel sad. My mom has wanted to come stay with us for a while now. She kept hinting for the last few days that they wanted to come stay with us this weekend. I wasn't feeling very well at the beginning of the week so I said I would see. Now that I feel better I decided it would be fun to have them over since it is supposed to be really nice and hot outside. I called her last night and said that we would love to have her and my dad over this weekend. She was really excited and said they would come on saturday. I was so excited to hear her so excited!

She just emailed me and said they aren't coming over now. She says the weather is nice in their city so they are going to stay home and if they drive this way during my dads holiday's next week they will come stay with us.

Geeeeeeeez.

Packing??? What is that????? You mean that I should start packing since I leave in a month???!!!!!!!

I have packed a couple of things, but then I look at things and I want to either leave them here or think I will use them yet and so I don't get anywhere. I don't have to work next Thursday, and so packing is the main thing on my list of things to do. I really do need to start making decisions about what I am taking and what I am leaving, but that requires actually admitting that I am leaving and while I am ready to see my family, in many ways, I am not ready to close this chapter of my life- and packing will do that in a pretty solid way. Next Thursday though is really my own free day to work on packing until a few days before I leave, so I really do need to get a lot done on Thursday. Maybe Wednesday will be a bad day and I will be about ready to do something to my kids so I have a motivation to pack :) We will see in a week :)

Today was a little rough. It started out pretty good- my kids were listening and doing what I asked and then they went out to break. When they came back, they were a completely different class- and a class that I didn't like that well. Hopefully since tomorrow is Friday, they will be in a little bit better frame of mind (not likely, but I can always hope).

Hope things are going well for everybody else. I seem to get home and things go in one ear (or maybe it is an eye) and out the other. I read things, but then I can't remember what I read and wanted to talk about. Have a good evening everybody!! (Morning AUS )

Trish ~ I say good for you...so many people are so intimidated by doctors that they are afraid to ask questions.

Jennifer ~ That SOOOO sounds like something I would do...hope your toe feels better soon.

Tami ~ There are so many interesting coincidences in life, aren't there?

Nicole ~ Sorry to hear about your Mom not coming to visit...that must really be a downer.

Beth ~ it must be really a mixed bunch of emotions to get ready to move...

Tracy ~ You sound like me...I know just enough about medical stuff to be dangerous (and to overthink everything!) Great pic of your kids by the way!

Thanks. Yes, I do know enough about medical stuff to make me a bit dangerous, but I also know enough to challange a doctor when I know I am right and they are wrong. I got a crash course while my husband was in the hospital half dead and the high and mighty doctor decided he didn't like me enough to talk to me and started making decisions for my husband that I was supposed to be making or at least consulted on. I learned from my family of very strong aunts that you don't let the docs push you around. If you do that you could end up dead before you know it.

I hope everybody had a great day. Mine was good. I had a doctor appointment first thing this morning. Then I had bible study just down the road which worked out well because both the doc and my bible study are about 20 miles away and with gas prices these days, I was glad to kill two birds with one stone.

Tomorrow, the people who bought our house are comming through for inspection. I know my house is good, but just the thought of people comming through my house to look for things that may be wrong is making me nervous. I know that once my house passes inspection, that we are done and the buyer can't back out and we are going to be able to close on the house we bought soon.

I so totally can't wait. My family of 5 has been living in a 900 sq ft house with one tiny bathroom so you can't even fit two people in there to do hair or something like that when necessary. Our new house is an older home, but it is a ranch that is over 1800 sq ft with three bathrooms, a living room AND a family room, plus a decent sized kitchen and two fireplaces. I so totally can't wait for winter now because we get to roast marshmallows and hot dogs on friday nights and just be together.

So tomorrow and right now, I am just a bunch of nerves. But I have bible study while they are doing inspection and that is a 25 minute drive so by the time I get home, they should be gone. Tomorrow is the last day of our friday morning study and it is a brunch. This study is the first study that I am involved with that is from my church. The other two that I do are with people from a different church, but since I built those relationships and totally love the structure of the studies, I am not going to leave them. But Iwill be sad when summer comes and they are over.

So happy friday tomorrow to everyone. Pray for a nice inspection for me and not many complaints from our buyers. This sale has been too smooth and I am just waiting for something to go wrong.

This is what happened. There was this house and it is only three blocks away from where we live now and has been on the market quite a while. I don't know why, but it was like all of the sudden one day, I got this urge to move and this house just drew me to it. So we made an appointment and eventhough the house itself is dated, it is in great shape and I don't plan on changing any of the decor until I have a clear idea of what I want. But it has three bathrooms and an upstairs laundry, three bedrooms, along with a den all on the first floor. The basement is so big that we are going to be able to keep most of it empty and the kids already have plans for rollerblading down there. I will let them because there is enough room.

I can't wait because I don't really like one set of my neighbors and they feel the same to the point where they say things when I am within earshot. It just isn't a good situation, and we do need something a bit bigger. We also wanted to stay within our school district, and this house is on the same street as the middle and highschool, and just blocks away from the grade school.

So please pray pray pray for my sanity and for this to go well. I do have alot of anxiety over this and have even been sick to my stomach over it eventhough I know that there is nothing wrong with this house that will break a deal. We have kept it up well, replaced windows, heating, air conditioning, flooring, and the bathroom. So the house itself is pretty much updated and all they need to do is move in. We made sure that the walls are painted neutral colors so that if they don't want to paint right away, they can just hang things on the walls and everything will match.

So now that I have gone on about this, I should stop. I will let you know tomorrow how it went. I can't wait for bible study because we are having brunch since it is our last meeting and I am going to bake pumpkin bread in the morning so that it is still warm when we get there, and my house will smell great when the people are back in here. I love baking and I love it in this house because with the size of the house, whatever I bake makes every room smell great.

Happy Friday!
Tracy

Interesting indeed. It probably won't ever happen to me again... not by accident anyway.

My friend texted me at 1:30am to tell me that she made two C's in lower-level art and how she basically doesn't see how she'll make it. I suppose she means that if she can barely pass the lower levels in her major, how will she pass the uppers. She keeps saying she wants to go to grad school, and she thinks that for art all the rules are gone (as in GRE, GPA, etc). ; she doesn't want to take the GRE. I'm not sure what to say to her; I don't think this is the place for her. I barely think it's the place for me, but I guess I'm thinking about the way she learns. I think if she tried hard-- probably harder than most would have to try-- she could do it; I just don't see that happening though....spends too much time just on... nothing all the time. Some people can get away with that... I can't. I guess I'm one of those ones who has to actually study. That's how she is too, but I think a lot of it just comes from not being able to understand on her part-- even she says that herself. I've had a few classes like that, but I think for her, ALL of her classes are that way.

I think she may feel dumb, and I know that's a bad feeling. The only thing I can see for her to do is to go to another school or something. I can tell her from experience that it only gets harder as you get on up there with those upper-levels. Plus she has to take all kinds of classes to graduate no matter what her major is(including math, sci, eng., etc.); I just can't see it. I'd rather her get out and be happier than try to stay in. I think it's society or something that's doing it. She thinks if she can't finish a 4-yr degree she'll have a scarlet letter or something... It might be her parents, but I think it's social pressure also.

Jennifer- don't worry about - I was trying to be sarcastic and didn't do a very good job. I leave in exactly a month from today - a month that will both fly by and drag by I am sure :)

Tamara- you knew that she wasn't going to do very good. Sometimes people need some wake up calls- sounds like she may be starting to get hers. How did your grades end up?? You don't have to share if you don't want to, but I know that you were working hard all semester.

Okay, I just realized that I forgot to have my student assistant make copies yesterday, so I need to go into school early to make them myself. Catch you all later.

Hi, ladies.

We went to church today. The twins reverted just a tad but their behavior was still better than even a few weeks ago. They're growing up.

We've had a nice 4-day weekend. The former Amir (he was amir for 10 days after the death of the last one-parliament asked him to abdicate due to cancer and other health problems) died Tuesday night. So no school Wednesday and Thursday. Makes for a nice little break. My school sent me an sms but E's school never called. I had to call them. But at least we were home!

Tonight I'm hoping that DH can get home for us to go to Chicken Tikka. But I have to go to the store first and he's at work and we're chatting so I'm not sure how that's going to happen. LOL I'm actually getting kind of tired of being on the computer, I'm ready to get off and pick up a book or cross stitch (well, after I go to the store) but I have to wait a bit, I guess. I'd rather talk to him in person but I'll take what I can get. LOL

Well, tomorrow's Saturday and then back to work on Sunday. I'll just be running around like a chicken with my head cut off before school since I wasn't there Thursday to get things ready. But it was worth it!

She only takes two classes at a time. Most people take between 12 and 16 hrs a semester; I think if she tries to take over 8 a semester she can't do it. She told me she made an A in UCCA. It's an easy core cirr. class, but I know some other easy core classes she's failed.

I think what took me by surprise was her saying she wants to go to grad school. The closest grad school to here has some high requirements for art majors (high according to what SHE's thinking) and everyone else. You have to have a B average in your major classes (she'd have to have a B ave. in her art classes-- in each individual class, not overall-- she's never made about a C or D)... I think an 1100-1150 GRE... good recommendation letters... What SHE thinks is that she can send her transcript to somewhere and just get in without requirements. She doesn't realize there are criteria people have to meet to get in... because apparenlty art and biology are different. Biology majors have to do all this work to get in, but art majors don't (that's how she's thinking about it). Even when people have bad grades, if they show improvement over time they still have chances. Thing is, she's either staying the same or getting worse over time, and she only takes one or two classes a semester. If she's REALLY concerned about grad school, I think she needs to transfer or try to transfer classes in.

She seemed to do well in community college (taking a class or two at a time), but even the classes that should be "easy" here are hard. I have electives to pick, and I'm trying to find something I can make an A in. Someone told me not to even take fitness walking because it was too hard. (Apparently you walk in there and have lectures.)

I still haven't replied to her texts. She sent them early this morning so I was thinking she'd think I was asleep.

There's one grade missing from my transcript. I guess my profesora hasn't graded everything, but I expect to get an A or B in there (all my exams in there were A's, but I think my homework grade might have brought it down to a B). I got an A in neuroscience; A in bioethics; audited organic chemistry... and I'm guessing an A or B in Spanish II. ;)

I figure if they're going to do something to my body, I have a right to know what it is.

Thursday, what are you going to cross stitch? That's something that I miss doing, but my concentration span wouldn't let me do it right now.

It is called teaching in Brazil and Thursday is a Brazilian holiday and then if they have off on Thursday, they take Friday off as well. I actually have in-service on Friday, but that is without kids So yes, I have a short week coming up.

So I did something crazy today - I permed my hair I haven't done that since I was in Jr. High I think. It actually didn't turn out that good. I have naturally straight, straight, straight hair so getting curls to stay is pretty difficult. If I get it styled decently, I will take some pictures. I do love the haircut that the lady gave me. She did quite a few layers and so it looks pretty nice and it has some body to it.
