Hey John, you might be able to appreciate this. Do you know I've been out faithfully for the past 3 weeks looking for morels and so far I only have one beefsteak and one...yes, one morel to show for it!?! BUT!!! I am not giving up yet.

What color was the morel (Black, yellow, gray or white)?

Black....and it was only about 3 inches

You may still be at the beginning of your season. We're done down here but you're much further north and it's been a cold spring.

Do you normally get a lot of them?

Yea...it's been quite cold up here still...still having some freeze warnings some nights. Next weekend is the big Morel Festival when it's supposedly our peak season. I'll be heading back over to the other side of the state next Saturday for another big hunt and I think it will be a little more productive.

This is actually my first time of doing this since I moved away many years ago but before we used to get quite a bit of them. We dried them and then had them to use whenever we needed them.

A guy who lives a couple hours south of me found 30 lbs of them last week (of course he won't give up his location)

Hi all,
My daughter and I just came back from 2nd Friday Art walk downtown. It's amazing how talented some people are!
We finished the evening off with a caramel apple, it was so good. A real work of art!

It was really nice. She had told me earlier this week that instead of paying her for cleaning the house, I could just take her out for coffee. We did that then just continued the evening. It's so great that she wants to spend time with her mom.

'Evening everybody!

Just checking in on a lazy Friday night here. Oh, and I have good news on my cat - no sign of infection. Yay! Praise God. They told me I should finish off the antibiotics and Macy should be good to go. (Figure I'll give her doses tomorrow and call it quits - just in case she came in contact with anything at the vet.)

Of course, my wallet is lighter again as a result, but on the flip side I got my salary letter for the next year and got a whopping 6% raise! Double what I was expecting! Woohoo!!! That comes close to covering my car payment, so I'm really thankful for it!

Hi Colleen, I wish that I could say that it was a good week, however I had more problems with my boss. Then I hurt my back this morning. I posted about it here.

Nah, she's gray. And she's only ever tried to get outside once. She got as far as the top of the porch steps, got this look of sheer terror that said "What have I done?!" and promptly bolted back inside.

Lucky you! MINE decides she wants out ever now and then - running alongside the house under the bushes - she gets scared and then stops where she is - so we have to go crawling in after her. Thankfully she's not tried this in a while.

But I can tell you the ending if you'd like...

I normally get by on 5 1/2 to 6 hours with a 20 minute nap in the late afternoon. I have to get some things done.
