When I was younger...much, much younger. But I hated what I wrote, so I never pursued that career choice. I sing MUCH better than I write !

I have had one particular experience reading a book written by a person I knew: unfortunately it was fairly badly written and difficult to explain how to fix to the friend.

How about you? Have you ever written or wanted to write a book?

besiderself

I can't wait to talk with you at the GT! We seem to have a lot in common. I'm a musician, too, and better at singing than writing. I've always wanted to write a book but don't intend to publish what I write. It's more of a personal gratification activity, and I don't usually like to share my creations and thoughts with the public.

It's 79 here and it's supposed to be 89 today. I have a feeling that you and I are going to start to sound like broken records by the end of the summer.

Okay, I am SO jealous that you can read without studying the text. I STILL cannot do that - years after school. It's very difficult for me to sit and read and enjoy a book. I guess it's worse because most of the ones I read are educational in nature, so I "study" them. Rare is the book I can just sit down and lose myself into its pages.

Oh, I can't read anything without studying or analyzing...even the 4th/5th grade reading level books that I keep in my classroom library. :)

The weather here is so nice. But I can't decide what to do outside. It is currently 64 degrees, with no wind. Beautiful! Is it a frisbee day perhaps?

Really? It's still drizzly and quite chilly down here.

Yup. The rain is all going to the south. It's absolutely beautiful here. (which begs the question of why I am sitting at a computer inside)

It hasn't been too bad here, I didn't even really need a jacket earlier.

Just watched the weather on the news and they said more clouds will be coming through in the afternoon. So maybe I should enjoy it now while I can. I had to laugh at the news though. The lead story was a man got bit by a dog!

Depends. Did the editor also write the report?

Yes.

And ironically the first draft is scrawled all over with red ink because 'I think you're missing the point'. *sigh*

Apparently the truth differs depending on where you sit.

Good afternoon all.

I am in Wichita for the River Festival and to see my sister. I am in a coffeehouse at the moment.

The weather here has been fantastic. 60's yesterday 70's today and 80's tomorrow. Last night was Cajun food and swing music, tonight will be free ice cream and Mitch Ryder. Early afternoon was shooting 150 images in 90 minutes at gthe Botanica Gardens.

Tomorrow is another full day.

So you're the one soaking up the perfect weather. Well, you've got some nerve!

Okay, seriously, glad you're having a good time - you're good at making your own good time, I've noticed, and that's really cool. Keep it up!

Naaaa....that's not true. You just get to date the wholesome, winsome morning girls. Of course, that may not be the kind you were looking for...

But it is a cute poem!

I looked outside a moment ago and thought that we were under nuclear attack. It's been so long since I've seen the sun that I fogot what it looked like!

That reminds me of a book I like to read sometimes called Alas, Babylon. Anybody ever read that one?

quote:

The title is soooooo familiar. I may have read it. I don't have time to dig out my books and check

What's it about (who wrote it also)

It's about nuclear holocaust. It's by Pat Frank, an author I'm not otherwise familiar with. The book is old--it's been around quite awhile.

Around here we re-read them!
