Ahhh ok, and even though I was Boston born and raised, I do no longer have the accent at all.

i have to say...that's good! personally, that is one of the few accents that just grates on me. i have a friend who was boston-born....and has moved back in the last couple years. he doesn't have the accent for the most part...but every once in a while it slips out.

mike...you have back problems? that's really tough. sorry. hope you're feeling better today.

I've never heard a Boston accent. Wonder what its like. But I know I do NOT care for the Wisconsin accent, give me a southern accent anytime over the northern!! No offense to any of you from the north!

Ok, try this link!

I love that accent!

Made my guitar cake and finished it today. Then the Things and I went and took my mum's dogs for a walk. Completely embarrassing event.

I was wearing my Crocs and then stepped in a hole. My feet kept sliding around in my shoes and I couldn't catch my balance so I fell. Luckily the Things were the only ones to see it and I'm proud to say they didn't laugh. I did scratch my leg up a bit so we trekked back home to wash me down. *sigh* How awful is that?

Thanks! I went a bit crooked on the strings but all in all I'm pretty pleased with it.

My boys actually prefer my cakes over store bought one's. That is a huge ego boost.

I always have fun making them but I HATE the clean up...LOL

So THATS a Boston accent!! I have always disliked that accent just didn't know where it was from. I didn't listen to the whole thing but that "medford" (spelled right?) accent is . Good for you!! that you don't talk like that!

Mosquito's just go by scents and perhaps your scent attracted them more.

I'll be horrified if I found out they liked stinkier people. I don't think I stink but who knows. I'm usually told I smell good but maybe they're just lying to me.

As I sit here typing I'm noticing one on my cheek below my eye that's getting really swollen....icky!

Normally if you are less clean (say with a weeks worth of dirt) they'll leave you alone entirely. Fresh out of the shower however and you're lunch!

They go by heat, moisture and carbon dioxide. You may run a few tenths of a degree hotter than she does.

I'm the same way. People love it when I come to their picnics cause no one else gets bit.

Several years ago at Disney a guest asked me if I was from Wisconsin by the way I talked. I've never been to the state. lol

Although I doubt I talk like that anymore after living in TX for four years...

about a year ago, though I was doing something at the church and I said some word to some older ladies (I think it was an "o" sound like in code)...apparently I said it funny to them because they didn't understand me. They then asked if I was from a northern state. ha.

I guess I'm an accent mutt. But truth be known after years of choirs and voice lessons I could probably talk proper if I needed to.

Oh well, I guess I'd best not be too critical of accents. Hard telling what I might sound like to others

i work for a WI-based company, so have been up there quite a bit in the last year. the accent for central- and northern- (especially north-western-) WI makes me cringe. all i can think of is the movie 'fargo.' it's that sing-songy scandinavian influence. and then you work in the canadian 'eh' and i just close my eyes and bite my tongue. lol

i loved living down south and hearing all those different accents. AL threw me tho. it was the only place that when i'd temp and take a message...i got simple names like "bob" wrong...cuz i couldn't understand some of them. then throw in the odd names...few bobs and johns. i worked for a father-son team...earl and forrest. my ex's name was ken...but everyone called him "kinney". but i loved when my ex-MIL would call her big grown boys "sugar" (say shuuu-gah).

dialects are a riot, aren't they?

So Tink, what is the measurement of your cake? How did you make the guitar shape?

Ummm...I'm not sure what size it is. Probably about 18 to 20 inches long or so. It's a regular guitar shaped pan. I just poured in the cake mix, baked it, dumped it upside down on a cake board and decorated.

Silly me!! Of course there's such a thing as a guitar shaped pan. I admire cake decorating talent but I DO NOT posess enough patience for it !!

Actually, the sweeter you smell, the more likely they are to go for you. Another good reason to avoid excess sugar/sweeteners. :)

Our secretary at work is mildly obsessed with scrapbooking. That and making DVD slide shows with her photos (that one's my fault - I taught her how).

She's happy as a clam doing that stuff.

Just how happy is a clam anyway? How do you tell? Do divers go down to the clams and administer the eHarmony personality profile or something?

Robb, I would think that clams could be too happy knowing the their death and consumption is always imminent.

Except in my case, in which a clam would be extremely happy. I'll let him live.
