By the way, I don't have an accent. People generally can't tell where I grew up, even though I grew up in my current county.

I lived in NYC for four years, and people didn't believe me when I said that I was from TX.

"Harvard"

Phonetic rendering of a serious Boston accent, I believe.

(We missed your thread-title antics, Skrey! )

Thanks! I was sure it was that accent, just couldn't make out that word.

HeHe, I love this thread title. In Maine, we have a similar statement only we replace "Hahvid Yahd" with "Bah Habbah".

Mosquito's just go by scents and perhaps your scent attracted them more.

I'll be horrified if I found out they liked stinkier people. I don't think I stink but who knows. I'm usually told I smell good but maybe they're just lying to me.

As I sit here typing I'm noticing one on my cheek below my eye that's getting really swollen....icky!

Normally if you are less clean (say with a weeks worth of dirt) they'll leave you alone entirely. Fresh out of the shower however and you're lunch!

They go by heat, moisture and carbon dioxide. You may run a few tenths of a degree hotter than she does.

I'm the same way. People love it when I come to their picnics cause no one else gets bit.

He he...I'm going to love telling my sister I'm hotter than she is! Just kidding.

Oh well, I guess I'd best not be too critical of accents. Hard telling what I might sound like to others

And sometimes you can't even tell you're talking different than they do. I was born and raised in Northern Lower Penninsula Michigan. Although we did move out to North Dakota when I was an infant until I was three. Then I lived in Montana my last two years of high school and there were a few words people would pick up and tease a little on how I said them. And then for college I moved just outside of Seattle and that is where I had lots of people comment on how I said things. And what is weird is I couldn't hear how it was any different than how they said things. The things that were picked up on the most were words like "house" "barrette" "theather" and much more. Then after living out west for several years and then moving back here to Michigan I could see what people were talking about. I actually think accents are kind of fun.

Actually, the sweeter you smell, the more likely they are to go for you. Another good reason to avoid excess sugar/sweeteners. :)

Hmmmm...that obviously isn't working for me because my sugar consumption has been very low the last few years. And my sister drinks a lot of sodas and has lots of sweets. Could be I'm just naturally sweet. Again, I'm just kidding. But it is good ammo to pick on my sister.

I agree. I think its just one of those things that prove God knew we would need variety and diversity in our lives

Well, the only topic I recall relating to heat is I learned that I'm warmer than my sister and that is why mosquitoes munch on me and leave her alone.

Sorry...I'm absolutely no help, am I?

I always thought the reason that mosquitoes never bit my father is because he smoked.

Hi Mike.

Random question, but has anybody heard anything from Craig (Trainfan)? Haven't seen him on here in a while...
