Random question, but has anybody heard anything from Craig (Trainfan)? Haven't seen him on here in a while...

I'm here. I was trying to get caught up on some things last week so wasn't on here. I may post about some of it later.

Yay! Good to know you're still with us. And I'll second Tink's observation - great pic of the dog!

Okay...let me share with you my lunch "experience".

I generally go to the cafeteria here in the building. Today I went and stood behind this darling of an elderly gentleman. He was also British. Made me swoon right then and there.

So we're standing there and there is another man behind me. I don't know him from Adam, but he decided to strike up a conversation with me anyway.

So they were are chatting when this elderly man asks me if I'm his (the man talking to me) wife. We quickly and vehemently deny this charge. Then he asks if I have children I say I have two Things. He asks their ages. I tell him. He asks if I have a husband. I deny it.

This is the funny part.

He says, "You have no husband you say?" and get a pondering look on his face. Suddenly he hollers, "Hey Phil! Come here please!" (name changed to protect the embarrassed). "Phil" walks over and the guy says, "This is a beautiful young woman who has no husband and two strapping lads. I want you to buy her lunch." *blink* And "Phil" had pretty much the same reaction. He recovered much quicker than I did though and was right on the same path as the elderly man. So they took me over, bought my lunch and waved good bye as I left.

I have to say it was quite interesting but at least I got a free lunch out of the deal.

The funny part is, "Phil" just met the guy there, just like me! *giggle* Apparently they had chatted earlier, Phil went to do something and then the elderly man hollered at him. Talk about a matchmaker!!! LOLOL!!!

If it's Star Trek you can keep your bonus points.

But it sounds like a Han Solo line to me.

Well...it might be Chewy, but my TV doesn't translate for Wookies, so I'll have to go with Luke. The darling of the darlingest.

It does, Robb. I'm sure it will be fine tonight. *ignoring John pointedly*

But I can usually get two to three days out of it. Today is the first day I've used it. I wonder why it's acting so wonky. *shrug*

Strange. I know as they get older the battery doesn't hold a charge as well, but that should be a gradual decline rather than a sudden drop like this.

You should get an extra USB cable for it so you can charge it off your work computer. Even without any software on the PC, it should still be able to draw power from the USB port. I think...

Hmmm...I don't know if I would do it with perfect strangers, but people I know, like at church or something like that. I actually have a pretty small yard. You haven't been over yet, have you?

Hmmmm...

I just have a lot of trees which equals a lot of leaves. The leaves need to be raked before it can be mowed. Well, they don't have to be gone, but it would make the yard look prettier.

And yes...it would be a great swap. I'd even help someone out with something they need done. *shrug* I have no idea what I could do, but I'd try.

Nope. I don't even know where you live.

Hmm, raking... Raking is hard on the back. Well, I guess I could do that, too. :-/

I'd like to discuss a talent swap program in more detail.

I can't think of much I need done that I can't do myself. :)

Hmmm...Skrey, I've never seen those kind of cookies before. What do you call them?

The good news is that I just bought and installed a replacement hammock.

They're called *looks at the mix box* "Venture Capital Fudge". They're supposed to be so deliciously fudgey that people will want to write checks to invest in your fundraiser/business/cause.

*pout* I wants a hammock! (I actually have one, but no close pairs of trees)

Get a hammock thats on a frame. I've seen those and would like to get one. *sigh, I wanna take a nap in the sun!*

Bah. Those cost money... and I don't like how they look, anyway. Besides, I already have a hammock. I just need something to tie it onto.

I'm off to eat dinner and spend time with some old friends. Have a great night, everyone!

This isn't a Hannibal sort of dinner is it?

LOL! The Chianti was yummy!

You're scaring me.

(But at least you got the wine choice right for red meat )

Oh? Did I not get the wine reference correct? Doesn't he say something like "washed him down with a nice Chianti" in the movie?

Wow. No posts in all the time I was sleeping.

Let's get this moving again.

First, here are some cookies. *sets plate on the table and backs away*

Second, here's a question. What are you planning to do this week?

My oldest nephew graduates on Sunday. I'm such a proud aunt...and sad. I'm so proud to see the adult he's been transforming into but sad because I miss our little happy meal dates. I'm sure he'd still go on a happy meal date with me but he'd probably eat about 5 of them....at least!

Speaking of graduation....does anyone have any good ideas for a graduation gift? I'm thinking about just giving him money but he does have a job so he does have an income and will be working full time once he's done with school. But still...I know just starting out in college there's a lot of little expenses that you don't think about. But, if anyone has any good gift ideas I'm open.

Yeah. You make a good point. If he's working already, planning to keep working (not starting a business), money isn't the best gift.
(Unless you want to pay off his student loans )
Something that fits in with what he's doing will make a good gift. For example, the traditional gift for a lawyer is a briefcase. So, it depends a lot on what he's doing with his degree.

That's the bad thing about built-in batteries. My DAR/MP3player uses a AAA cell.
