quote:
I'm also really tired of Ethan being treated like he is the only child that misbehaves and then not be given an apology when he's blamed for something he clearly isn't doing! Garsy, I remember you talking about that. I imagine that has to discourage him, poor guy. I don't blame you a bit and I don't think the boys are quitters. I've read about all you do, it's not like you sit at home and watch stories all day long. You really interact with your kids and the school and I imagine with scouts too. That is so cool that Brian's work will still pay for schooling! Donna, I am so glad Noah did so well at the dentist. Linz has her first cavity, did I already mention that? and she's devastated. She absolutely does not want the Novocaine shot. I told her my mom doesn't do them either, and since it's a small cavity I don't think she will be in pain or anything. Our insurance won't pay for the gas. quote:
I know she isn't right and has no right to say those things to me, but she makes me want to crawl under a rock and cry. And then I wonder how many other people are thinking awful, rude things about us and just not saying them. {{{Donna}}} just consider the source. Anyone who thinks like that isn't worth you thinking about. quote:
I would take her aside, away from Noah and speak to her. If that doesn't work then you should bring one of the older ladies of the church with you to speak to her. What wonderful, and Biblical, advice. :) It's a good idea. quote:
Kath - you mean like you don't count as a mother as long as you have a mother to honor? Mbee, I don't know, I just get so sick of her boohooing about gifts, no gifts, calls not made in a timely manner, on and on. I don't want my kids to have memories of mothers day being so ugly. and like I told Linz last night I know she loves me, every day she shows it, and I don't need a special day for her to give me a card or something. Plus, Larry never took them to get me anything, he said I wasn't his mom so I guess I learned never to expect anything, so anything was a surprise. His mom gave me a rose bush on mothers day, which was a complete surprise to me. One year when I was in 6th grade (1967) I bought my mom nylons for m-day. She accused me of buying them for myself and just giving them to her because I got the wrong size. That has stuck with me all these years. I didn't want my kids to have that kind of memory. quote:
The thing about secondary infertility is that you know everything is in working order. You did it once, why not again? Poppa and I decided to trust the Lord's judgment in the matter. Right isn't always easy. {{{Mbee}}} all these years, I've never known you were going through that. quote:
ORIGINAL: JuliaHop Bee...I'm sorry that your dd's teacher called her a name. When I was in 6th grade a teacher called me the name that students used to tease me and I remember it quite clearly 37 years later. Julia, I remember stuff like that too, it's awful. quote:
It's the last day of school today and I actually remembered to get all of my teacher gifts. I'm ashamed to say I've never even thought to do gifts once my kids got to highschool. I do get the bus driver a christmas gift card to walmart. quote:
ORIGINAL: momma_bee I told her to respond that "of course I'm a Princess, my Mother's a Queen" The snide part of me wanted to tell her to ask the teacher why she didn't curtsy, but that would be WRONG! quote:
one parent at the meeting (students and parents were encouraged to attend) said "oh, my son excels at math and I'm not going to have him in with a bunch of dumb {insert several explititatives here} kids! Just because he has problems with English, don't make him no dummy!" Roberta, No wonder the poor kid has trouble with English. [8|] quote:
Now Liz thinks it's an LD program and it's really not. That's a shame, I hope she realizes differently once school starts next semester. quote:
On Tuesday, Mrs. D was teaching and walking around the room as usual. She found a desk where someone had written some very hateful things about her in large red writing. Is it appropriate for me to send her a card to cheer her up or encourage her? I think it would be lovely if you sent her a card. She has to be feeling discouraged. I'd not let one sourpuss teacher stifle your caring instincts. quote:
I really wish I would stop dreaming about tornadoes. The weather this year has been so awful. I did tell ya'll hubby drove THRU the heart of a tornado a few weeks ago didn't I? Dana's mom, Oh how scary! [:o] I use my subscriptions list too. It makes forums a bit easier to manage. quote:
omorrow the bands go out of town to March in a parade. Dee, Are they going far? I hope the weather cooperates! quote:
Update on my 12 year old, she says she printed all her stuff and turned it in. I will be checking with the teacher tomorrow or monday to be sure. Kim, is there any way for you to check online for assignments/grades? The schools in our area use Power School and I love it. We can keep track of assignments, grades, lunch money, etc.
