read most of the posts and have been going through the same arguements with my ex pastor concerning all these happenings, although not through Florida. This same spirit which operated through Toronto, Alpha is now rearing its head through Florida. Same olde manifestations, deceving the elect and unsaved alike.

But with regard to any kind of manifestation, there are two questions that I always want to ask. Number one: Is it a manifestation of the Holy Spirit of God? Or is it a manifestation from some other source? And number two (and this is related to it): Is the manifestation in question in harmony with Scripture? In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul says, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. In other words, the Holy Spirit is the author of all Scripture, and He never says or does anything to contradict Himself. Every genuine manifestation of the Holy Spirit will, in some way. harmonize with Scripture

The greatest single danger in this end time is not sickness, nor poverty, nor persecution. It is deception. If anybody says, "It could never happen to me," it has already happened to that person, because that person is saying something could never happen that Jesus said would happen. That is a sufficient indication that such a person is deceived.
Therefore, signs and wonders are not a guarantee that something is the truth. There is only one sure way to know the truth. It is in the Word of God. Jesus said in John 8:32, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." There is no other way to be sure that we can escape deception in these days except that we know and apply the truth of God's Word, the Scripture.

the Holy Spirit is that He is the servant of God the Father and God the Son. This is an exciting revelation because it gives such a high value to servanthood. Many people today despise the idea of being a servant. They feel it is demeaning and undignified to be a servant. But I think it is wonderful that servanthood did not begin on earth. It began in eternity and it began in God. God the Holy Spirit is the Servant of the Father and the Son. This does not demean Him or make Him less than God. But it is a fact that we have to recognize about Him, which directs His activities and the things He does. In John 16:13-14 Jesus gives us a glimpse of the Holy Spirit's ministry and activity: "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak on His own authority [literally: from Himself] but whatever He hears He will speak: and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you."

Now, I want you to listen to this carefully, because it is revolutionary. Any spirit that focuses on the Holy Spirit and glorifies the Holy Spirit is not the Holy Spirit. It is contrary to His whole nature and purpose. Once you have grasped that, it will open your eyes to many things which are going on in the church that are otherwise difficult to understand. For example, we have a very beautiful chorus that we sing about the Father, the Son and the Spirit. The first verse says to the Father, "Glorify Thy name in all the earth." The second verse says to Jesus the Son, "Glorify Thy name in all the earth." The third verse says to the Spirit, "Glorify Thy name in all the earth." I love to sing the first two verses, but I decline to sing the third verse, because I do not believe it is scriptural. The Holy Spirit never does glorify His own name. His purpose is to glorify the One who sent Him.

Let me make another statement which may surprise you. I have not found in the Scripture anywhere an example of a prayer addressed to the Holy Spirit. So far as I can understand, no one in the Scripture ever prayed to the Holy Spirit. ..........................
we never give orders to the Holy Spirit. When we want the Holy Spirit to do something, we address our request to the Father or to the Son.
The third important fact about the Holy Spirit is what is indicated in His name: He is Holy. This is His primary title: the Holy Spirit. In Hebrew it is the Spirit of Holiness. He has many other titles: for instance, the Spirit of Grace, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Power, and so on, But they are all subsidiary. His name and His primary title is the Holy Spirit. Anything that is unholy does not proceed from the Holy Spirit.

There are many features of purported moves of the Holy Spirit that I could pick out and hold up as examples of things that are not holy. But I will only deal with one, and that is: animal behavior in human beings attributed to the Holy Spirit. There are many such examples, some I have witnessed and some have been reported.
First of all, there is no passage in Scripture that I know of where the Holy Spirit causes any human being to behave like an animal. There is the example of Balaam, but that is a strong contrast. God caused Balaam's donkey to speak like a man - but He never caused Balaam to bray like a donkey!

Man was created in the image and likeness of God to exercise authority over the animal kingdom (see Genesis 1:26). Man is, in fact, the highest order of the creation described in the opening chapters of Genesis. This has a bearing on the way the Holy Spirit blesses us. He uplifts those whom He blesses. He will at times cause an animal to act in some ways like a human being. But He will never degrade a human being by causing him to act like an animal.
Before anyone presumes that i have not seen demonic deliverance; i come from a part of the world where the demonic is worshipped openly. So yes, i do believe and have been involved in deliverance but the Toronto blessing, etc is no blessing......

I started a thread in the General Faith section entitled "Nightmares and the Lakeland Revival". Copied below is the post:
Since posting a thread back in April asking if the ongoing meetings in Lakeland, FL with Todd Bentley are truly a revival, some things have come to light.
I personally as well as many others have experienced either one or more of the following symptoms after either watching or attending with some regularity Todd Bentley's 'Florida Outpouring' (as they call it):
1) Nightmares
2) Panic and anxiety attacks
3) Seeing things (insects scurrying across walls, people standing in corners. when you turn to look, those things are not there. I don't call them hallucinations because I believe these particualr apparitions are spiritual in nature)
4) Not being able to read the bible (one man said they can pray for long periods but have been unable to focus their attention on God's word, so they haven't been)
5) Physical pain and worsening health
My wife, along with several close friends and I have had to repent from going and watching these meetings.
This is a warning to all out there about these meetings!
Last Saturday, Todd Bentley made the statement that there was an 'angel' standing by his pulpit.
He said to the people from the audience that were up there that this 'angel' would heal them AND COME INTO THEM!
It was after this that my wife and several of our friends publicly drew the line and renounced this so-called 'revival'.

I just watched a Todd Tatoo youtube episode and I feel sick - the kind of sick you get when you know something bad is going to happen. Prior to the video on youtube, I watched a portion of a pre-recorded video on the Fresh Fire site - recorded in the so-called Florida outpouring.
In the Florida video, the fellow says that anyone saying anything against the ministry (Fresh Fire) has identified themself as being aligned with Satan. And of course there is piano music playing in the background the whole time and people are standing and weaving back and forth.
In the Todd video, Todd is yelling around about where to expect the outpouring next - and name dropping - someone he has identified as a prophet. He (Todd) also talks about one of his angels - that's when I started feeling sick.
The NT has many many warnings with regards to deception - I know some people wonder how Christians can be so deceived. Again, the devil comes as an angel of light - and that is what is going on here.
It is in meetings like these that spirits of deception go out into the congregation and then people take them back to their churches and spread them around some more.
This type of outpouring is exactly how deception is being spread - it's an outpouring allright.
I hope you understand what I am saying here. This is one of Satan's big plans - to spread lies, deception, deceit AND cause splits among Christians.
I have said this before, I say it again; CHRISTIANS NEED TO PRAY THAT THE REAL SPRIT BEHIND TODD BENTLEY IS EXPOSED. I am praying for that - you need to pray for that - if you have not been deceived. These people are convinced that they have the goods. They consider people like me the enemy, not knowing that I have lived through what they think is something new (fresh fire). There is nothing new under the sun.
Todd is not making up what is going on - worse, it is very real. These demonic spirits want to kill us all and confuse and divide Christians.
I believe the Gifts of the Spirit are real - all of them. But I know about the other side also. More than I want to.
I have also stated that the reason this is going on is because there is a place for it. There are various reasons for that place. Here are two.
1) People have itchy ears and want them scratched
2) People want more then to sit in a pew and in this type of meeting,
they have that need met - albeit not legitimately.
Are you praying that this spirt is exposed? Are you praying that God have mercy? This is serious stuff folks. It's fine to point out all that is wrong here, so obvious to some of us, but how about directing this to the Creator of the Universe? He knows - He says: "I looked for a man, but could find none."
The Derek Prince posts are great. Actually, I am very familar with his ministry - avail yourself of his teaching - he is not specific in his teaching other than what God's word says, so no one can accuse him of being prejudiced or attacking the 'outpouring'. The man is also with the Lord now.
Those who have not yet decided whether the outpouring, or any oupouring, is godly, the very least you can do is ask God to give you discernment, and, STUDY the Word so that you have a guide book.
The main point of this post is to ask you "ARE YOU PRAYING FOR THE EXPOSURE OF THE DEMONIC - OR JUST GRIPING ABOUT IT? YOU
HAD BETTER PRAY, BECAUSE THIS IS WAR, FOLKS. And we are not fighting against flesh and blood like Satan tries so hard to get us to do.
OK.

It is really strange how so many self-professed Christians don't seem to have any problems with Todd attributing his conversion experience to a demon named Emma-O.
Do a simple Google search on that name and see how for centuries that name is quite known in occultic circles.

It seems that Todd and his people are now editing their websites to take out any mentions of Emma-O and anything related to this demon.
But thank God the Internet is the way it is and once something is posted... the tracks of it are usually always findable.

During this visitation the pastor�s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost� she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers of complete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and prophesying over them. She would tell them that God gave her their telephone number and then would give them words of knowledge. Complete strangers. Then angels started showing up in the church.
I believe Emma released a financial and prophetic anointing in that place. That was the first angel that I have ever seen in the form of a woman. Some angels I�ve seen seemed like they were neither male nor female. However, Emma appeared as a woman who was like a Deborah, like a mother in Zion. When she came, she began to mentor, nurture and opened up a prophetic well. The people in the church began having trances and visions and the pastor began getting words of knowledge and moving in healing. That congregation also saw more financial breakthrough than they had ever seen before.

Agreed.
I just got done watching a YouTube video of Todd saying: "Thick thick honey glory. I pray that it gets on every one of you tonight" ... and then immediately proceeds to laugh maniacally. It was literally like watching someone [or something] laugh hysterically at having just pulled a fast one and duped people into accepting something really, really bad. Throughout the video, he shakes, convulses, and yells, and is clearly out of control of his own body. Worst of all was his announcement of the 'special' angel that will visit the children that night.
This is not a joke, and it's not something to take lightly. This is serious, serious stuff, folks.

Can large gatherings of people have a "group high" so to speak, and not be because of false teachings, prophecies, visions, etc? Can they have this because of the truth of the Lord?
