Do you ever use your hair dryer for anything besides drying your hair? If my clothes gets wet for some reason before heading out I'll dry it with the dryer.

I don't use a hair dryer at all.

But my husband is an artist, and he uses one sometimes if he needs a coat of paint to dry quick!

Drying small articles of clothing
Drying paint
Getting the steam off the mirror
Melting ice on the windshield
Drying small art projects
Melting colored wax

How can you take a hair dryer outside and melt the ice off of your windshield? I mean,where do you plug it in?



I also use a hair dryer to dry my nails.

I don't dry my hair with one...I have used it for all worts of art projects though (with paint, or glue gun, or just things that are wet that need to be dried faster). I have used it to dry carpet or upholstery when a drink was spilled on it and left it a bit wet.

When I have an earache, I put it on the lowest setting and warm and blow it in my ear. It's nice and it helps.

For thawing out the frozen hot water pipes if I forget to leave it dripping on really cold nights. In fact, I keep it in the basement in the winter because I rarely use it for hair.

Long extention cord. That was in Minnesota. Where I live now, there are electrical outlets in my carport and in my garage, but I don't need to thaw my windshields here.

In Minnesota, we used to keep our vehicles plugged in during the winter, or they would not start. We even did this for the time we lived in apartments by just running a log cord out to the car. Lots of apartments there have outlets that are designated for the apartments, and they are at the designated parking places for this purpose.

I sometimes use mine to warm up my sock before I put them on when my feet are cold. AHHHHHHHH

I use it to defog the mirrors in my bathroom when I'm getting ready.

On a side note, I've used my hair straightener to iron a shirt collar down.

Got some great ideas in here. I like the one about warming up your socks before putting them on and the straightener to iron a shirt collar down.

I use my hair dryer to blow the dust and bugs our of my blinds on the windows. I don't use it for my hair.

that reminds me when I was young kid I slept in my sleeping bag alot and I would do that in winter time sometimes...I would use hair dryer get it warm and slip into my bag lol

Besides drying my hair, I've used my hair dryer to:

Dry the mascara on my lashes quickly
Dry my nail polish
Dry a wet spot on my clothes
Dry cold, wet puppies, LOL

I've used my hair dryer for most of these things too ... and I don't use it on my hair (unless I'm doing a fancy style for something) -- my hair dries fast enough as is! My hair dryer stays with my craft supplies (unless dh seizes it to do something with his model railroad!)

after going through the washing machine.

Hair dryers are great to inflate blow up mattresses if any of you camp or ever use them for company. They work really fast. I also use them to remove stickers from glass or any hard surfaces that won't peel off cleanly.

Hair driers are good for jump starting the drying process for ski boots.
