Hi!
I'm a Theology Major and I'm interested to see how everyone here found their Christian path? Check all that apply and explain your journey.

I wasn't really born into any faith. I was around 5 or 6 when my Mother who was a studying Jehovahs witness searching for truth at the time, started going to a Catholic church to appease my Father. I guess it was his faith, not hers, even though he never went with us to church. So I guess born into doesn't really fit. But I know that once I was 13 and was confirmed I stopped going, and from then to now(18 years), my Mother has prayed for me. So I guess she lead me here. Where I was always meant to be.

I have grown up in the church.

I was born in a strict Christian Reformed church.

Eventually moved out of there and after much searching, became a member of the Assemblies of God and have been a part since then.

God led.

Eventually I submitted to Him with His help and guidence.

Born into a Presbyterian church which I don't remember much about. Stopped going around 9 or 10 as Dad was Jewish and I just felt like staying with him and sleeping in on Sundays. Was agnostic for a while when a friend brought me to the church I'm at now which be non-denominational, yo.

I grew up in a cult, and found it empty. When I was in college, there were these people I knew who would have been perfect if they just hadn't been such Jesus freaks. I finally realized they were who they were because they loved Jesus.

A roommate when I was 24 opened the Bible and showed me stuff about Israel becoming a country again, and it made me realize that a 2000 year old prophecy was fulfilled in my lifetime and thus the Bible was true and BOY WAS I IN TROUBLE!!!

I became a Christian shortly thereafter. My roommate was thrilled. [:D]

My parents made Faith(appropriation of Jesus' obedience/Victory)an integral part of our family life experience hence I grew up with an ever growing appreciation for a 'reasonable response' to my own scarifice, obedience and reliance on His Victory.

I was about 13 years old when my mother suggested I go to the neighborhood AG church revival to check out the girl drummer that played in the band. I was interested in doing that but not interested in church. Walked out a new creation in Christ.

My mom is/was a strong believer so I had that growing up. We went to a church of the Nazarene but later switched to a classical pentecostal church. About 15 years ago the Lord started drawing me to Messinaic Judiasm.

My parents 'believed' that God existed but did not have a relationship with God.

I'll try to shorten my story since there are a number of steps that led me here.
My parents were non-practicing Catholic so I grew up believing in God. When I was 14 a friend had turned me on to the band Stryper. That got me believing in Jesus and I thought I was a Christian. I didn't have a church or anyone to really "sow the seeds" so I fell away but was still a believer. Then I got into the Deadhead/hippie scene and started getting into all the New Age junk (with a little Buddhism, Wiccan, and Rastafarian thrown in there). One day I just realized what a bunch of baloney it all was so I went to church with a friend who had invited me several times. Within less than a month or so I gave my life to Christ. There were a good handful of Christians that were a part of my whole story (a part of my life) who were praying for me along the way and who planted "seeds" in my brain. [:)]

Essentially my whole journey is God led so let's give credit where credit is due. [;)]
