faroukfarouk -> The poet Tennyson (5/5/2008 11:46:35 PM)
|
The poet Tennyson in the 19th century wrote of politicians and their 'lies and lies and lies and lies'. They haven't changed much since the 19th century, have they? What is absolutely outrageous is for people to imagine that unbelieving politicians and the pilgrim church of blood-bought believers habitually behave similarly. In Psalm 2, heaven scorns Godless politicians and, in turn, we know that hell scorns the righteous. What the believers are here for, rather, is to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, by God's grace. We can't expect to clean up the sow that is washed which keeps returning to her wallowing in the mire (2 Peter 2.22).
