ORIGINAL: PrincessDonna Okay, I know this is a pretty trivial question, but I cannot make up my mind. I think I've lost it, in fact...my mind, that is. We got our 8 year old a new Bible...his first NIV, and it's a nice hardcover Boys' Bible. He'll need it for school next year (3rd grade). We can't decide whether to give it to him at the end of this school year or the beginning of next. Feel free to offer your $.20.[:D] This may not apply....but here's what we do for Bibles. When they begin to read, I buy them a large-print NAS Bible (I don't like NIV...but the translation is immaterial). This was recommended by a lady who had worked with kids all her life and she found that they had a MUCH happier time with large print than normal print. My grandmother kindly made cases with handles for each boy. When they wear them out, then I buy them their choice of Bible...for Brandon that meant pocket-sized in a metal case, lol. Nate hasn't worn his out yet, but he is getting there! For Noah..I would probably give it to him sooner so he wasn't struggling to find the books and get used to it in class.
