I agree with you visus. The closest we have to controlling our thoughts is trying our best to regulate what we let our mind take in. For example, an alcoholic in recovery will avoid bars and parties, though he may occasionally have to be around alcohol at a resteraunt. We just need to trust that God has what's best for us in mind, if only we allow him to guide us.
