Not only could she sing, but she could write the songs as well! My favorite of hers was I Go To The Rock. I have versions of that by the Hoppers and Legacy Five. I love that song.

My prayers are with her family and friends!

So sad to hear this. What a legendary lady she was. I just recorded her wonderful song "I Go To The Rock" people always react with such joy to that song. I wish I could have met her. In glory I will then tell her thank you for writing it.

Amazing grace shall always be my song of praise
For it was grace that bought my liberty
I do not know just why He came to love me so
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary
To view the cross where Jesus died for me
How marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need

------------------------------------------------------------

And we shall behold Him, We shall behold Him, face to face in all of His glory
O we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him face to face our Savior and Lord
And we shall behold Him, our Savior and Lord

Thank you Dottie.

I was shocked to hear the news. I had the privilege of hearing her at Dollywood the last 2 years. Thank God for her life.

Tears will never stain the streets of that city..no wreath of death on her mansion door...

she was truly one of the most anointed singer's songwriter's I have ever seen firsthand...and I have seen her in concert many times.

what a day of rejoicing in heaven for her...but what a loss for us left here. prayers and love to her family.

Just spoke with Beckie, and good news is that Larry & Chris both are awake and talking, so thier recovery should be soon. Just keep praying for them. Not sure on the driver yet, he's still very critical. It appears Dottie died instantly, as her neck was broken when she was thrown from her bunk.

This truly was a shock to me. Dottie was absolutely an instrument in the hand of God.

The accident took place about 30 miles from my house. I have no idea what the cause was, but I assure you the after the tornadoes cleared out of this area yesterday evening, the wind blew like crazy all night long. It's very possible they were blown off of the road as hard as the wind was blowing last night.

My thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

From what the Highway Patrol told me, it was a weather related accident.

Wow! I logged on here and the first thing I saw was Dottie Rambo fatally injured in bus accident...my heart sank. I loved Miss Dottie, I never met her, but her songs and testimony were great. I am saddened by the news, but I know that The Heavenly Choir has gained a new member, and she is where she has sang about all these years! I will dearly miss her.

I just logged on, too, and found this. This is so sad! Truly the hardest part of all eternity for us Christians will be and is RIGHT NOW, as we are having to be separated from the saints that we love. Oh but what joy we we'll have when we can see them their dear faces again! Heaven has gained a lovely saint! May God grant peace to Ms. Dottie's family.

All I can think of is this verse of my Favorite Dottie song....
"Soon I shall hear the call from heaven's portals. Come home my child it's the last mile you must trod. I'll fall asleep and wake in God's new heaven, sheltered safe within the arms of God."

Often missed but never forgotten.

I echo what was said about the wind. I am in Springfield Mo, about 30 miles from Mt. Vernon. We had Twila Paris at our church last night. At the beginning of the concert the audience was told weather radios and TV's were set to monitor possible tornados. Although those and even the rain missed us, the wind was quite strong off and on all day, evening, and night.

I also was knocked for six when i saw this. She was headed for my hometown to sing this morning. It truly is a sad day for the family left behind, but can u imagine the choir in Heaven right now? dottie, george, glen, roger just to name a few. My prayers go out to the families in this devastating time. I pray for God's loving Grace and Mercy and the Healing balm to saturate each of them.. She was truly a "lady".

Forgot to mention.

We talked to Christian and he said that he felt the winds gust twice which then blew them off the road. I have seen the crash seen and the bus. There was no tornadoes at the time of the wreck, but winds were and are still gusty now.

We are friends of Larry and Chris and are helping them here.

I'm praying for the all of those injured and their families. It's such a shock.

I grew up listening to and singing (and still singing) Dottie Rambo songs. I Go to the Rock, There'll Be No Lock (on the Door to my Mansion), On the Sunny Banks, If That Isn't Love... So many of them, so anointed, such a blessing.

The Rambo's were at the first gospel concert I ever remember attending. Dottie had the guitar around her neck and was talking in between songs. The Lord was moving, and she was crying as she spoke, and came to the point that she couldn't speak for a moment. Finally, she looked up and said, "Well, I'm sorry, but sometimes I just get to snottin' and bawlin' ... Lord, and it feels so good."

Heavenly Father we come to you with heavy hearts. Our hearts are heavy because we have seen the passing of a dear friend and wonderful lady. We can only imagine the pain the family is feeling now, and we ask that You comfort them. As precious as she was to us, she is more precious to You. We have loved her for a few years, while You have loved her (and us) for eternity. We ask that Your presence comforts the family in these next few days more than ever. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

James thank you for posting such an annointed pray. I think you have touched on exactly how all of us feel. Ms. Dottie wrote so many songs that impacted our lives one way or another in our Christian walk. I was just thinking that even Anthony Burger was playing her song "We Shall Behold Him" when God called him home as well.
