Jae, whatever choice you make, don't let the fact that Jadon isn't in daycare or nursery be a deciding factor. My niece was an only child, cared for at home, no church nursery (at the time) and she almost never did playdates.... She still got rotovirus after her mother had refused the vaccine. Polio is much more rare, but my point is that it can happen even to kids who spend much of their time at home. Jadon still goes with you to grocery stores, yes? Well, he can pick up stuff there just as easy. Make whatever choice you feel is right, but don't let the lack of daycare or nursery give you a false sense of security.

Dr. Sear's Vaccine Book has a list of vaccines from LEAST to most reactive... Hib IPV (polio) DTaP Pc (prevnar) Varicella (chicken pox) Hep B Hep A MMR Meningococcal Flu Polio is one of the least reactive vaccines. Again, it was the OLD polio vaccine that had big problems, the oral one, which was a live vaccine. The current one is not live and cannot cause polio. I'm all for thinking about vaccines and doing what is best for individual children/families, but I think educating ourselves is key. Read, read, and read some more. BTW, I deleted my comments on your FB because I don't want to argue with someone who thinks the problems with vaccine are all in our heads. ETA...my pedi agrees with my vaccination schedule for Esther. We are doing the polio at 12, 15, and 18 months. The most important vaccines for little ones are Hib, DTaP, and Prevnar, according to my research and my doctor agrees. So those are the ones we're doing first, one or two at a time.
