That's not true. Only cars that require premium need premium. Your car is a pretty reliable , well made car so there is a different reason why your car wouldn't start. However, some gas stations do add water to their gas (illegal) but not all of them are caught. Go to a chain like BP where they have their gas tested all the time. (not the independent guy on the corner) premium myth

I don't drive so I really haven't sacrificed anything. All though I have noticed that the early bus that goes downtown has gotten fuller with people trying to save gas.

Fortunately, gas prices haven't hit me too hard. I drive a Corolla and live three miles from work, so I haven't felt the increase too much. But I do try to walk more to the grocery store down the block (versus driving), and I plan my errands more.

Being that I moved farther from where I work, I'm not saving much on gas. Though, now I'm not quite as far away from my fiance' as I was. So, that's helpful to both of us. And, since Lincoln is only 20-30 minutes from me now, (as opposed to almost an hour), when I do my major shopping, that does help. As often as I can, I do my major shopping while in Omaha, like on my way back home from Sharon's place. Or, if I feel the need to get it earlier, I keep them in her fridge/freezer until I leave for home. A few months ago, I traded in my Kia Rio for a Kia Rondo. Basically, it's a 'cross' between a station wagon and a SUV. That is, it's not quite as roomy as a SUV, looks like a station wagon that's been taking some steroids, and gets a bit better gas milage. For a single guy mostly driving to and from work, it's not all that great of a car. But, when I factor in how much more room I have for packing things for moving, getting groceries, etc., then the savings start to fall more to my favor. Kind of a side note... My favorite color is red, I bought the Kia Rondo (El-Hassad--God's Steadfast love) on Valentine's Day and the color is......volcanic red. Since I already watch movies on my home theater system than see them in theaters, I already save there. After Sharon and I are married, we plan on paying off my car and then trading hers in for something newer and a lot more economical. Personally, I would love a Kia Rio or Spectra (the next size up) with 5 speed transmission. But, since Sharon will be driving further than me, it will probably be 'her car.' Therefore, it will probably have to be automatic.. I love manual transmissions... There so much fun.... In Christ, RC

Well, if I'm ever over in your area, I'll be one of the ones flying by you - I HATE going slow - I should be a racecar driver. *shudders*

I combine things - just can't slow down......not in my nature.

I struck out on my own and moved to within walking distance of work. (~50min-1hr from family etc) Gotta say, though, the area's nice and I don't miss the hour+ commute. (or filling up twice a week)
