Chris and I finally got back to the gym, after not having completed a workout since...Easter I think. We've both had coughs that just took a long time to shake, But as of today, we're both back on the workout wagon! I did the first day of the couch to 5K program, and it went pretty well. I actually expected it to be more difficult, but I guess the short intervals made it easier. We'll see if I still think that tomorrow. Chris and I were both pretty wiped out afterwards, so we've just been chilling at home.
((Roberta))- good luck tomorrow.

That's great Stacy! I hope you guys are able to keep it up and that it helps you both feel great! My brother started a running workout. It has been a month and he is still running 3 times a week! I am so proud of him! He didn't think he could do it, but has had a really easy time keeping up!

(((((((((Trish))))))))))) Well, that can't be much fun. Are you anemic by any chance?

I have been anaemic in the past, but I'm not now. What happened at the gym scared the living daylights out of me! That was the last thing I expected to happen!

I called just before 7 to make the appt. for tomorrow. I didn't get through to someone until 7:25. All appts for tomorrow were taken already. I have to call back tomorrow at 7 am to schedule an appt. for Friday. I have an appt. scheduled for Monday that is supposed to be a follow-up to an appt. that I can get this week. I know that doesn't make sense at all, but it's the best I can make of the situation.

Sometimes I wonder what one does when they can't eat veggies/fruit/healthy stuff to get adequate vitamins, and on top of that they can't take supplements either.

Sorry about the frustrations Roberta and Tamara!!

Another busy day for me - not sure when I won't have a busy day I worked on mowing most of the afternoon - till the mower broke and I had to go and get the battery to fix it. I finally reached a point where I decided to quit for the night since I still had over an hour to do (we live on 5 acres so mowing is a big project). I did get sunburned which will be fun to deal with in the next couple of days. That is what I get for going out without putting on suncreen though.

Hope everybody else's days went fine. Have a great evening/night!!

Why can you (or whoever you're talking about) not take supplements? Or are you thinking of a specific medical condition?

Ugh...so HOT today, and I'm feeling just icky. I think the air quality was really bad today- I was stuffed up and sneezing all day, and my kids were just cranky.

My body can't handle oxalate well (a lot of people have the same issue too though)... or I have ingest as little of it as possible by eating foods that are devoid of it....or as devoid as they can be. But there are some vitamins that add to oxalate conversion in the body (I think vitamins A, C, D, K); the problem is that I just can't take those vitamins... but I can't usually eat the foods that contain them either (oxalate is a by-product in plants/veggies/fruits). So then the other day I started wondering what you really do when you can't really eat most healthy stuff and you can't take all the vitamins any other way either.

Part of the issue is that foods that are high, medium AND some low give me problems (all of the high, just about all of the medium, and great deal of the low). But the low foods are usually not healthy... because it's in fruits/veggies most, so I'm just a big ball of unhealthy. Plus the more the food is processed, the better it is as far as oxalate content. I admit I don't like healthy food anyway, but some foods that I can't eat I did like or try to eat (salads, carrots, pears, etc). I can still eat salads, just w/o all the veggie toppings.

It just seems like the opposite way of what it should be, but it also seems like there's no way to get around being somewhat unhealthy as far as diet is concerned. It's almost like being reactive to healthy, but unreactive to junk.

That might not have made sense. If it doesn't, that's what I get for typing while half asleep. :)

My BIL injured himself at work a few weeks ago. He wound up with a cut on his leg that wouldn't heal. He finally went to the dr. today. He's been put in the hospital and put on antibiotics. He'll be staying through at least tonight. My sister left to go be with him at the hospital.

He didn't complain or let anyone know that he was in any pain. My sister saw it last night and made him go to the dr. today.

Jennifer- what slows me down when mowing it is all of the buildings/equipment that is around the yard- there are a couple of larger patches, but most of it is going around buildings and what-not.

Roberta- hope your BIL gets to feeling better.

(((((Tamara))))) - you are an encouragment to me as you keep pressing on with your various health problems- you will make a great doctor because you know what it is like to be in pain and not having any answers/solutions to that pain.

Stacy- hopefully it will be a little cooler for you today- do you have any rain that you want to send a little further east?? I will take it

Not as far as I know. He just called and they are keeping him tonight as well. The infection runs from his ankle to his entire foot and up to his upper thigh area.

Roberta, I hope your BIL is better soon. I wondered too if your BIL is diabetic. They tend to take longer to heal from infections.

On of my friends drove the get-away car for his friends who robbed a Zaxby's. He got caught, but his other friends didn't... and I'm not sure why that is since they were all in the same car. He used to be a well-behaved young man.

Tamara, I know that is really sad to see... I had friend who was good boy and then years later down road, I seen his face in paper because he robbed a bank. I was shocked, and felt really bad for him.

I'm back online. Yeah!

I've only been waiting since Tuesday. The guy who usually comes to install it left for Egypt so the guy I get it from had to bring someone else. Now I just need to be hooked up to a generator. Hopefully he'll be able to come today like he said. I've lived over here long enough not to hold my breath, but I can still hope.

I'm not taking the time to answer too many posts because I'm hot and can't turn on a fan (power's off, surprise!) so I'm going to go lie down a bit.

Then later, after I'm (hopefully) with power, I'll get back on again.

Have a nice day, ladies.

It's just like he was good one day, then the next he became "bad." He was in a gang, and either in initiation or some beating he ended up in the hospital because his kidneys got messed up. Then he robbed a fed-ex truck when he worked for there, and he's been in jail for I think two other crimes. Then he got a girl pregnant and it was technically statutory rape because he's an adult and I think she was 15-16 yrs old. (The guy and I grew up together, and we're the same age). He just seems like's totally gone now and really doesn't care about the baby that much. And just a few years ago you'd think he wasn't capable of doing these things.
