Shabbat Shalom.

This weeks parasha according to the one year rabbinic calendar is Korach (Num. 16:1-18:32), Haftorah Sh'mu'el(Samuel) 11:14-22:22. Any observations?

VERY simple thoughts today- it ain't all about me!

....my actions have the potential of affecting more than just me and my little circle, I better pay attention.

Make Your Own Olive Oil Lamp

LINK

This is for those emergencies for when the lights go out,
but could give an idea how to make your own atmosphere
like the early church did.

When I saw that, I just thought,
how many times have I sat in the dark
when I had a gallon of olive oil in my
pantry all the time.....................lol.

One of those DUH moments........

And how much did I spend to have a
few quarts of coal oil in my emergency
cabinet................

Hi and shalom. This summer has been busy, just worked a double shift today so I can have the p.m. off tomorrow to assist with a local food distribution project, live out the Torah!! Started a blog a few weeks ago, and enjoy this form of expression. Not a lot of commenters, but improving my abilities to express my thoughts and such. Planning a concert for late Fall and may have some participation from a couple messianics who attend a congregation over in Ontario Canada, about 25 minutes from where I live. Have been reading Bound For Freedom lately, and one of the recurrent themes is God may use what liberates us, to liberate others. The book is based on Exodus, and recommend if you like some intellectual reading. I see things have been sort of quiet since last here, don't seem to do the various forums with the frequency to which I did in the past. I am hoping if the concert does occur that it may lead to a twice monthly small study group of things Messianic. Help from local churches and such to promote this has evidently been not in God's time table just yet. Chat later. My blog URL is graftedinandonthejourney.blogspot.com Happy summer to you! We have some northerly winds headed this way so hopefully
we can drop back into the 90's again. I also hope RC is already
enjoying the new front coming in.

I sit out in my arbor at night until the bugs run me in or I just
give it up and go back in. There is one particular star that
seems to always be the first to shine through. I try to sit up
until the thermometer drops down to 80ish..............lol
That can be pretty late.

I gaze up and acknowledge the glory of the LORD and how
amazing that He would create the whole universe and only
inhabit this one small planet for His pleasure. I don't try to
understand why, but just enjoy the view and the fact that
I love Him because He first loved me.

Tinkerbell! Glad you made it here. I know it can seem very foreign in the beginning so feel free to ask any questions.

Yeshua is Hebrew for Jesus

Shabbat is Hebrew for Sabbath. It begins sundown Friday and ends on sundown Saturday. It is a time of rest and the L-rd's day...a time to really reconnect with G-d and with others.

Shabbat Shalom is an expression of having peace on the Sabbath. We often greet each saying this on the Sabbath.

A parasha is a weekly reading of the Torah and is usually based on the Jewish or Rabbinic calender. It's like the one year bible except that it takes you through only the Torah for the year. Many readings also include New Testament readings to go with that weekly reading.

We celebrate the Feasts because G-d created them and we celebrate them to honor all that G-d has done for us through Yeshua.

Many of us eat kosher, not just because it had spiritual significance but kosher is just plain good for you.

That's a start. Very basic. But again glad you are here!

Amen.......................it's just awesome to think that
God would do such a thing. He loves us more than
we can even fathom. I can't come close because I
have bouts with feeling "unloved" (lol) but I know His
Word is true. And His Word says "I love YOU." And
His actions through Yeshua bears that love out.

Hi, tinkerbell............
You are on an exciting journey as things begin to really
make sense with the new found "old" information that
has been hidden from those of us who have never had
the influence in our lives before.

And as was said, ask away.......there are NO stupid questions.

Thank you so much, Ariella! This is definitely helpful.

Funnily enough early in the year I felt lead to eat all natural foods, a lot being kosher. Isn't it amazing that G-d was already preparing me for this life change?

Oh! I missed this earlier! Thank you so much! I do feel like I'm going on an adventure thankfully my children are up for the challenge. They love to learn new things and have new experiences.

I will probably ask questions so be patient.

I think I may have had some special purpose in life,
but as so many do may have missed the purpose altogether.

But thank God for Grace.

I have never struggled over "kosher" meat because I have
never had a desire to eat meat. Guess from birth. Older Bush
could not be tempted with broccoli and I can't be tempted by
any form of meat. lol.

When at a dinner, some one will bring a dish and some one else
will ask what it tastes like. I always say, "it tastes like chicken."
They nod and then realize I don't eat meat and then will say,
"well how would you know." Just a private joke among us here. lol.

Oh, I was a little bit nervous that you found something that would declare my chocolate as not being kosher, (I was thinking, don't mess with my choco-theo man!) But this is a pretty cool link.

Someone very wise once told me that in the beginning, G-d made the heavens and the earth...and He called it good...and that it was in fact, chocolate. Not only that, but since man was formed from the choco-dust of the earth, he was also.... chocolate, that is until sin entered and well, here we are, in a chocolate drought. *sigh* She said it, so it MUST be true! I'm certain there's a Hezekiah scripture reference for this somewhere...Covaan_Meshuga???? Where are you woman?

Hmm. I have never heard that before. Chocolate is a bean and grows from trees, very similar to coffee. If you can find that scripture it would certainly help. I have never heard of choco dust.

From what I gather from that website what makes chocolate kosher are the other ingredients that are put in when making chocolate. No pesticides maybe?

Oh, no! I need to gather all the Hezekiah scriptures together, so that I can make sure that i don't have chapters and verses one on top of another!!! Yeeeouch!
