You can also make them in the microwave, though they're not quite the same...still good though. Just remember to do it in 5 second increments...the marshmallows tend to get big realllly fast.

Happy Birthday Kylie!! I would've sent you a pm, but I didn't see your name on the list of birthdays.

Nicole (InBetween) - I'm sorry that you've never had s'mores. No campfire is complete without them!

Ladies, I am not thinking straight today. I was all mixed up on a phone call with my mom, and I just went back and re-read the post I made on this thread where I said:

"I hold the OP reasonable if I decide to go out and buy s'mores" instead of "I hold the OP responsible..."

Although, I suppose the first way could still work.... What it is about a 15 month old and being 12 weeks pregnant that gets my mind all swiss cheesed?

Oooh...s'mores! I want one, but I think the only ingredient we have is mini-marshmallows. That may not work.

There is a big differance between unmelted s'mores and really gooey melty marshmallow and chocolate wrapped in foil and melted s'mores. I like to use dark choclate and cinnamon crackers.

Oh yeah! Dark chocolate and cinnamon crackers are the best way to make them! Also, dark chocolate is good for ya!

I don't remember the last time I had a marshmallow. I don't miss them though.

I miss my dad. Today would have been his 80th birthday had he still been alive.

((Trish))

Today is MY dad's birthday. How weird is that?!?!

Today is going all right. I worked out this morning...seems like the workouts are getting harder, but it's good. Need to fold some laundry. I'm praying and hoping some of our things on craigslist sell SOON. I guess that's about all for today.

What are your plans for the 4th, ladies? Did anyone do anything special yesterday for Canada Day?

I will be working most of 4th of July.

I know people are just trying to make small talk, but it bothers me a little always being asked, "Looking forward to the weekend?" or "Looking forward to the holiday?" I am never off on holidays or weekends because I work at a place that is open 24/7 and my days off are in the middle of the week when we are less busy.

Catherine, I very rarely look forward to holiday's because they are boring to me. My family doesn't seem to like celebrating things so Lorne and I are always alone which doesn't make it seem different than any other day. Holiday's would be a lot more fun if we had family to spend the day with...

Our church family usually does something if our other family doesn't. We've had BBQs, etc. Makes it a fun time.

Sorry, Catherine, I wasn't trying to upset you with the "small talk".

I understand. I felt that way when I worked at Wal Mart.

When I worked I missed a lot of fun stuff. When I worked retail they always had me working weekends. I eventually got fed up and changed the schedule to give myself some time off. I would request one day off, they would say yes and then have me working a 12 hour shift that day... so I would just erase it and change it. Even when I didn't work retail I missed out on lots of fun things. It was really annoying!

You didn't upset me. I was talking about "IRL" people, like Starbucks workers. I went to the dentist today and got asked by 1 person if I was looking forward to 7/4 and then another person told me "have a great 4th!" Uhm, ok.

You know, last Christmas or the Christmas before I was in a heated thread about having to work on holidays. It must have Christmas of '06 because I was still working at Wal Mart. I said that I refuse to do business/shopping on Sundays and holidays because I don't think that most places need to be open and forcing their employees to work - I did make allowances for things like phone companies, hospitals, police officers, etc. I could not believe some of the things that were said to me in that thread. I can't think of any other thread where I've had my feelings hurt as badly as I did in that one. I wound up leaving the thread. I almost left the boards over it and I probably would have if one of the mods hadn't stepped into the thread.
