Anyone else up late? I seem to have mixed up my schedule this week. In any case, I am eating dinner, finally, and listening to Lena Horne. Oh, and doing laundry since Sir Camoflauge wore through one pair of pants and is therefor down to only two!

Are there any crosswalkers from Texas? Dolly made landfall around midday yesterday. Last reports has her downgraded to a tropical storm. But she's still dumping a lot of rain, hence there's a lot of flooding.

Let's keep the Texans in our prayers.

There are plenty from TX - just not in the immediate vicinity of where Dolly made landfall.

Good morning everyone! I had a nice, long night of sleep 'cause the power went off during a severe thunderstorm last night so there was nothing left to do but go to bed!

Yucky. It's been pretty humid and hot up here in Chatt town, too. Not nearly as bad as last summer, though, and we've been getting some much needed afternoon t-storms. I love those!
I'm ready for fall, though :)

LOL! I understand. When I used to be sick all the time I loved coming down there to breathe in the salty air, though.

It stays pretty mild up here into October nowdays.

You have chilly? You may need to define chilly because I have a feeling your 'chilly' and my 'chilly' aren't the same.

Well, up here it gets down to the 20's and 30's. That's 'chilly' to me.

Really? I never would have thought it could get that cold.

The joke here is that the seasons are cold, really cold, still cold, and road construction.

Oh yeah, in the panhandle, they will get into the 20's quite a few times during the winter months. We only get to that once every few years.

Stop that.
We are not Lower Alabama. Those people can't drive.

Ow! You just hit me!!! I cannot believe you just hit me!!!!

And we are too! This area is just as redneck as Alabama is. If you don't believe me go sit in Wal Mart for about 20 minutes and just watch everyone. *shudders*

Yeah, 20's are pretty rare South of the panhandle. And that's where the "Southern" line ends, too. This part of Florida isn't considered "southern"

Exactly!!!!!!! And Michelle only lives about 50 miles to the north of me, and she gets significantly colder than me! Cold in FL is just goofy. LOLOL I'm surrounded by water on 3 sides - so we're always warmer - however, I live in a "low lying area" that notoriously gets frost when the rest of the area does not. At my house, it's the same temp as what is listed for Tampa - which is nearly 10 degrees colder than the temp listed for St Pete (since that was is taken right next to the water).

Thoroughly confused now???????

We also have "pockets" of cold weather. In the area I used to work, it was away from town and in a very rural area -- it was always 5-10 degrees colder than at home. One of these days, I'm going to get a weather station so they can have some of the cooler temps on record. (The nearest one is not far from my parents' house. They get the wind, I get the cooler temps).

We have winter, road construction, road construction and road construction.

The state joke here is the "men working" sign and the mascot is the orange barrel.

I think I'm going to stay here where the weather makes sense. Florida weather just sounds too confusing.
