I love homeschooling!

In this state, music and art appreciation are required subjects. So tonight I was chatting with my guitar-playing friend, who is organizing the annual folk music festival, and I asked if she had a schedule and not only did she have a schedule but it included CLASSES that are free...in addition, when I mentioned that both Brandon and I should take Mic Techniques and that Brandon has been running sound, she said they needed young sound tech types to volunteer--so he will get music appreciation and occupational ed and community service all in one weekend Plus have fun.

Cool, Jen!

Hope you are feeling better by now, amy!
Well, I haven't been online in a while because I kept feeling worse. Finally, I called the Dr. yesterday morning & they didn't have any appointments available (of course), so they sent me to Urgent Care. I had a 102 temp when I got there & the doc said I had infection on one of my tonsils & that's why my ear was hurting so much. He gave me anitbiotics & told me to take some Mucinex too (I forgot I had some of that in the house). Thankfully, dh was able to come get the dogs & take them to their vet appointment! What an expensive appointment, besides the vet costs the gas to go back & forth 2 times to the base . But I could not have done it. I slept most of yesterday & alternated between sweating & chills. Then at 1am this morning, I woke up feeling yucky. I took my temp & it was back up to 102. I got back to sleep & did a LOT of sweating! I woke up this morning feeling almost normal again (well as normal as it gets for me )! I'm going to head in to get a shower. I'm hoping this has broken & I'll only get better from now on.

I caught up now!! Hope everyone is having a good morning. I'm going to post an update about my niece's court date in the prayer thread. Not good news.

ETA - WOF praying for your daughter & her mom too! Funny that your dd is going to the UK & we have a scout visiting from the UK!

I bought Homeschool Tracker at the homeschool convention, but have not done much with it yet. I plan to use it for the new school year.

2 of my 3 kids are really grumpy today. I'm very short on patience with them right now.

There are NO swim lessons, stroke clinics, karate classes, spinning get-togethers, swim meets, or anything today!

Well, with the exception of swim team, but Brandon walked there and will walk back...actually, he will walk right on by my house, since he is 'walking J home' after practice, lol. Like she can't make it on her own? No, I think it's for extra talk-time, since they don't really have the time (nor breath!) to chat much while swimming a mile every morning. Then he will walk back, but he'll be late. He also has to mow the church lawn after dinner.

Funny thing--I remember my boyfriend when I was Brandon's age, and I'd be hanging out at his house, and it would be time to go, so he would walk me home...and then I would walk him home...and then he would walk me home...LOL

Nick is here, from last night until Sunday night. I am exhausted already by the constant state of watchfulness. Makes me wonder if I actually watch my kids when he's not here. LOL Just kidding...I know I do...it's this hyper-vigilant state of always knowing where everyone is, what they are doing, and what they are talking about that is exhausting. As much as we didn't want him in summer school, I am glad he is not here a week at a time this summer. I will definitely need a break by the time Brian is home. Unfortunately, he probably will too, from having a very long, demanding workday. I think it will be bedtime early for everyone tonight.

Can you just always have Nick within sight and hearing?

Brandon just showed me his BLUE ribbon...swim meets can be confusing, and even he didn't know until today that he'd gotten first place in the backstroke last week! In addition, they assigned him to swim the 18 and under relay tomorrow...when he's in the 16 and under group. I'm a proud mama!

Well, yes, but they all kind of move as a flock. LOL I mean, they missed him and they're playing...summer stuff. I'm not going to chain him to me if I don't have to. I would lose my mind.

We've had no sexual issues today, but I'm not letting my guard down either.

Yup.

They've played pretty well all morning, and all together (shock of shocks...). Now it's nap time, in which everyone but Noah takes a nap. I love nap time.

Has anyone seen a white board on wheels? You know, like the chalk boards they sometimes have in church, except smaller and without chalk?

Jennifer--white board on wheels? No. But our little "lap sized" ones seem to grow legs and move around the house on their own.

Dh came home last night. I'm glad he's here to help out with the kids, esp ds2. But there is palpable tension between us. It's gonna be a long weekend..............

His, did I miss something?

No, the lap-sized are not big enough. Brandon and I are doing algebra problems on the white board nearly every day, and I don't want to stand in the dining/schoolroom the whole time, but propping or holding the lapboard is not working well for Brandon.

Ds was trying to figure out the password on the pc. He read the hint but didn't get it. He said, "Hmm, let's see, the password has something to do with "goodbye"!!

Jen, did ya find the roller board yet?

Ezri, praying for you!

Ugh. I'm sorry, Ez.

Speaking of military mindedness...perhaps all the camo has gone to Nate's head. His math today requires shading (percentages) and he just told me that when he shades he 'begins by securing the perimeter and then moves in...'
