i decided to got to gothic instead of have lee do it. they dont use plastic barriers at wayne's tattoo world and its just too risky. at gothic they have barriers on everything and religously follow the universal precautions. the artist i'm looking at her link is below. please check her out and let me know what you think. miasma, after the health dept. contacting thing didn't work out i finally got a name and number for someone in charge of tattoo parlor licensing (apperently in NH parlor inspecting isn't as important as food inspection) so i should have all my answers on wayne's parlor safety by then. the new artist i'm looking at however is a 5 star award winning tattoo artist, inked for 8 years and if you click on the link below and look at her work (she is very talented) and her studio you'll see these people go above and beyond when it comes to sanitation. below the link are the safety question i'm asking. http://www.myspace.com/fallenangeltattoo TATTOO SAFETY QUESTIONS: are there plastic barriers on power supply, tattoo machines, spray bottles, and work surface because IT CUTS DOWN ON GROSS CONTAMINATION WITH BLOOD AND INK and makes cleaning up easier and more thorough ask studio about their Universal Precautions do they use a hard surface disinfectant on their tools and work surface between tattoos? how do they sterilize non-disposable equipment? do they refrain from touching things like doorknobs, lights, phone with dirty gloves? is the work area clean, organized, and well lit? do they wash hands between clients? do they properly dispose razors, ink and ink cups, Vaseline, and plastic barriers?

TaraP So has she given you any feedback lately either about this thread or any plans she may have? Take care. quote:
ORIGINAL: rainbowtvp She definitely can come to me for advice/guidance if she decides to get one right away. I think there is a chance she will, since she does a lot of research on it and has notebooks full of possible designs. She will likely have enough money saved up at that point, too. But... I also think she has a pretty good head on her shoulders and she knows the risks and would be very careful in choosing a parlor based on safety/cleanliness, even if she didn't ask for my help. Certainly if she told me she was getting one, I would point out some things to be aware of. I may have her read this thread. ... Tara P
