LOL Anyway, I know what you mean about having to walk on eggshells. For people who just take offence ANYWHERE, there's nothing really that YOU can do. You didn't mean to offend, you apologized several times, the person gets offended at you so much, not only at you but at other people who didn't mean to offend..... for that there's nothing to do except avoid discussion because it can really wear you thin!

When you tell people to encourage them as Christians, offer scripture, I find that Christians, those who are not really walking with the Lord are the most offended and they think that you are "judemental when you are trying to give them good godly advice in love. One incident happened in the Singles fourm when one of the posters accused me of being "judgemental", because of something that he did not want to hear. That is another thing too, when people hear the truth and they hear what they don't want to hear, you are branded as insensitive and the person think that "I don't need to hear that." And I feel that if someone says that, there is definatly something going on with someone's life or the person is just going through it and not coming to grips as far as the situation goes.

Okay. You guys. You've been talking about me behind my back. Starting with post 360 or somewhere around there. I am offended, sweetie. For sure. I have likely been the one who has been offending all of you with my "sweethearts," "honeys," "darlin's," etc. I talk like that, and I know I have written like that around here. Okay, kidding aside, I don't mean to be rude when I talk/write like that. If I have been offensive, I will try to remember this. Then there's the poster I was debating with, and I called her "Darling," because it was part of her CW name. I almost changed it, in case it came across as rude, but I didn't. Maybe I was rude to leave it?

If "Darling" is part of your name ("your" is used in the generic sense here), you really have no room to complain if someone calls you darling... JMHO...

Yeah, one might think so, but I wasn't sure, so I just stopped writing for awhile there, backing off, you might say. Who knows???

I am offended today. #1 I am offended that apparently there is a rumor here at work that a male co-worker spends too much time in my office. His DS is 18, going to college, my DS is 14, starting high school, so is his DD. My DeeDee is 11, and would be starting middle school if we had it. Their personalities match up. So, even though the kids will never meet, we share stories and can identify with each others' parenting problems. We figure we are fine. Our spouses figure we are fine (I email his wife) but there is a rumor. How could ANYONE think that of me???? #2 Poppa's family offended me. Long story short. R's son had a wedding with a limited guest list. She did not invite D's adult sons, she did however invite P's adult grandsons. (R, D, & P would be sibs) R said it was because the groom is friends with P's grandsons (true) but D felt it was because R doesn't like D or the boys (also true). D wrote a letter saying how hurt everyone was and R mailed a copy to everyone else in the family to show how mean D was to her. Fast forward to yesterday. D's son's gf is expecting and there was a shower. I am highly offended that NONE of the aunts / cousins / spouses could come to the shower except for me & DeeDee and my SIL (who would be mother to the young men whose presence was so poorly received at the wedding) Now, I will admit it was short notice. But, that was a terrible welcome to the family for this charming young lady and the baby. Not only am I offended by the family - I no longer care if I offend them. They are hurt if I don't host a home party. They are upset we aren't Catholic, upset when we don't kneel at the weddings, but we aren't welcome at the communion rail. They get mad when we can't go to the picnics because we have to be elsewhere but get mad when we have a party that invites the other side of the family as well. Now, I just hope the OP isn't offended that I hijacked this thread because I am upset and offended. But the question then becomes "Should I be offended? Do their opinions matter and control my actions and mood?" At work - Yes, unfortunately, I have to chase my friend out of my office and only talk to him in an open area. At home - No, those snotty little aunts have no say so in my opinions of others, only my opinion of them, and quite frankly, it didn't change any this weekend. I just feel bad for the young lady who wanted to meet her BF's family and instead got a cousin and a cousin's wife and daughter.

From our side. You know, the father of the baby is an "A", there were three of us. His mother was a "K" and there were about 10-12 of them. Oh, there is a previous marriage, older brother and his family/cousins came, so about another 3-4 more which I should count as our side. There weren't more than 20 non-immediate family members there. Shameful showing when I can count at least 20 girls/woman on the immediate A side of the family and that is before you add Poppa's great aunts.... I don't like Poppa's aunt to well. She has been caught misrepresenting things in a way that sheds a positive light on her. But, still....
