BarlowGuy25 -> Billboard Hot Christian Songs (7/6/2008 10:13:26 PM)

How come BarlowGirl are never on it? I mean, songs like (the reissued!) "Million Voices" are probably better than your average say, Britt Nicole fare... (Set the World on Fire bored me to death)

Where's the airplay?? Are th Girls still fighting that uphill battle, and the hill gets steeper and steeper?? Not seeing them there makes me sometimes think they don't exist and that I even made them up! I may even be imagining this thing right now.

WHEN WILL THE 'GIRLS "ARRIVE"??

Cheers, with a frosty mug of...A&W.

I'm not a fan of Barlowgirl, nor of CCM in general. Lots of groups who top the Christian billboards really aren't that great in my opinion. So maybe it's a good thing they aren't on there?

I have one of Barlowgirl's cd's, but don't listen to it at all anymore. They were ok to me at first, but then their harmonies began to grate on my nerves. I don't know exactly why. I will admit, they've got some pretty good lyrics, though. But their music style isn't me.

Really, there are a lot of good Christian bands out there who aren't "recognized" by the general Christian music community. And it's the community's loss.

Truthfully, despite your obvious fanaticism, they just aren't that popular.

If I hear one more Barlow Girl Song.... AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! [:@]

Sorry dude! The B/G's are a novelty act IMHO.

It has been a couple of years since BarlowGirl was on this particular Billboard chart, but eight of their songs have charted:

Billboard Hot Christian Songs
"You're Worthy of My Praise" -- No. 5; 2005 (with Big Daddy Weave)
"Enough" -- No. 7; 2006
"I Need You To Love Me" -- No. 11; 2006
"Never Alone" -- No. 21; 2004
"Here's My Life" -- No. 29; 2006
"Let Go" -- No. 29; 2005
"O Holy Night" -- No. 31; 2005
"Mirror" -- No. 37; 2005

I guess Barlow Guy would like to see his girls at number 1.

huskarine -> RE: Billboard Hot Christian Songs (7/31/2008 8:44:44 AM)

honestly, Barlowgirl's music is not applicable to mainstream soccermom radio...it's too rocky...

That is why Natalie Grant (even though "I will not be moved" is there) is on the chart constantly (she is the only one really putting music out there)...but most female Christian artists have disappeared (Rachael Lampa, RSJ, Nichole Nordeman)...

you will however see Francesca Battistelli climb up there...

Barlowguy, you should hope to see Barlowgirl's music reach the outside world, sort of like what Flyleaf is doing...

Plumb is doing ok too, but I thought that Barlow Girl had a hit on the charts also?

SmokeEaterWFD6 -> RE: Billboard Hot Christian Songs (6/25/2009 8:37:31 PM)

You ain't kidding...I almost never hear female artists anymore, period.
Where are the ladies?

narnia -> RE: Billboard Hot Christian Songs (6/26/2009 3:00:06 PM)

I miss Nichole Nordeman.

Britt Nicole's new CD set to come out in the fall is actually alot better and more musically/lyrically deep than her old CD. Check it out before you completely write her off.

Sorry for interrupting such a nice talk. But I can't understand why do people take so much account of the charts and all that sort of thing. If I were fond of a particular band, it would be pointless for me to worry about its unpopularity. Even if I am the only fan of their music in the whole world, it's nothing wrong with this.
As for me I like the way BarlowGirl use piano tunes and chorus, besides their sound is very lively. I would say it's not an average band. So why listen to the charts?
