ORIGINAL: Kath 94 I think is the dog from Toy Story but I can't remember his name. Now that you've helped my memory, I think I remember. It's "Stretch" I think... slink...cause he's a slinky haven't looked at them, but just wanted to point that out shar-mar....about the camera....it doesn't have a setting for small things (macro) and you can't self focus...so really there isn't much you can do about the fuzziness with that camera.

ORIGINAL: peculiar_lady2 what kind of camera do you have? (model so I can google it please...then I can tell you what you need to do to clear up your pics) Sarah, I have a Canon PowerShot A720 IS. Set your mode dial to SCN and try using the 'foliage' setting.....see if that helps any. See mode settings here.

Y'all who have given camera-shooting suggestions to me (either here or via PM) . . . THANK YOU very much. Beckey, I had tried the foliage option a couple of days ago . . . Not via the SCN; but just by turning the dial to the flower icon . . . When I did that, the automatic flash would, well, flash and the pictures would come out way too bright and "white lighty" (if that makes any sense). To combat that, I was using the AV option (but some of the pictures --the photos of very small toys-- were still coming out a bit blurry). I will try the SCN / foliage combination tomorrow when I start shooting pictures again. I have a User Guide for the camera . . . but I really didn't know where to begin with the guide. . . . that, and I was hoping that someone here would be able to help me. And, y'all, thanks also for the great links for the toys; I've bookmarked them for future referral. I also will probably have some more toys that I'll need y'all's help with in identifying. As y'all have probably alread guessed, I'm not really up on cartoons and Happy Meals and such. LOL Sometimes, I don't even know where to begin . . . especially if it's a character that I have absolutely never seen before. Y'all have been wonderful with your answers and your help; I very much appreciate it!

Shar-Mar ... there's a button on the right, a 4-way dial type button. The bottom should be the Macro-flower button. Select that, and then click if you press the up button, you bring up the menu to turn the flash off. That's what I have to do to get close-up shots when I'm using it.

With the flash off, you'll need lots of room lighting. Are you using a tripod?

Ray, I have a portable light studio, that I've been using (thanks to Beckey's suggestion as few months back). As to the tripod, I have one, but haven't used it yet (I know, I know . . . but I do plan on using it when I start shooting the eBay photos . . . I've currently been using my elbows as the tripod).

I was trying to save some time . . . however, the photos that are blurry, I'm now going to need to re-shoot for when I upload them to eBay . . . which will require even more time. I'm trying to figure out how to "raise" my light studio. It's currently on my kitchen counter, and with the mini-tripod, I have, it's difficult to get a good camera view of whatever it is I'm shooting. And since I'm on a whine roll, bending over in that position (so I can see the view) hurts my back. I'm thinking that if the light studio was high enough so that the camera view was eye-level, then that would work better. OH! I just had an idea that may solve that particular problem! Thanks, Bill! See, I just needed to talk it through with someone. KuKu, if I had to choose between my being alive versus get good photos, I'll choose my being alive. And Christine . . . I don't think passing-out is one of my options neither. I only like to be unconscious when I'm sleeping. OK, y'all, have lovely days today; I'm off to go shoot photos.

. . . So, I have this really cool Bugs Bunny toy . . . he's 8" tall, and all his limbs (and wrists) are moveable. He's holding a carrot . . . of course. He talks! He says 3 things: (1) "Eh, What's Up Doc?" (2) "Of course you know, dis means war" (3) "What a maroon; what an ignoramus" My questions are: In #2, is it "dis" or "this" that he says? In #3, is it "maroon" or moron" that he says?

I think he says, "this means war", but I could be wrong. And it's "maroon".
