Smell funny where on your body? On your breasts or other places? It could just be that because of your hormone influx your nose is working overtime...just like it does for some women after they find out they're pg.

Could just be that you're smelling your milk!

Thats what I was wondering, becuase I do have milk. Last pumping I filled up one of the little snappy lid storage thingies (provided by hospital) on each side. My breasts are starting to feel a little tender. I met with the LC today and she helped me out on what to do and get going. She also got me some bigger breast shields for my pump since the others were a little small and making me really sore.

That's awesome about your milk coming in full force! What a tremendous blessing from our Lord! Please make sure to be using your lanolin (before and after every session)...you can get chapped and bloody from pumping the same as with a baby's latch.

I always seem to notice that when I'm lactating that I sweat more under my breasts and in between them...not that it smells like BO or anything...just that it's not dry like it is when there's not milk in there...that could contribute to it as well I think! Those wacky hormones!

How are you doing hormonally? Are you feeling ok?

Can one be a part of the moo club if one's not currently nursing?

I guess technically you'd be classified as a non-active member.

Of course you can!!!

Hormonally I'm doing good. Honestly I havent had time to be depressed and sad. The first day here was hard...no sleep, and not even being able to touch my baby, but I am doing better. I know this is the best place for him right now.

Yeah, my nips are starting to get sore, so I need to use my lanolin a little more, I guess i didnt think it would be as bad without a baby latching on, but I am learning otherwise....and i hope the new nipple shield thingys will help too.

I am also going tomorrow to find a good bra or two...any tips or anything? I hadnt even begun to think about nursing bras and stuff. There is a store here for breastfeeding we plan to go to it tomorrow. We are going to look at one of those hands free things...I'm having trouble pumping both sides at once and I am going back to work Monday and would like to have it figured out.

Erin, are you wanting to get a pretty underwire bra? Target sells Gillian O'Malley nursing bras that are really pretty with underwire and they are only $15. I've been using my three for over a year now, and they're still holding up, just don't dry them in the dryer. Someone else bought one on here too, I think Jae, and I think she said she likes them too.

A lot of other people swear by Bravado nursing bras too. I've never had one, but I heard they're great.

We may got check Target too then. I usually wear underwires but honestly...I am not too concerned with pretty right now. Comfy is the word for me..since the next 3 moths will be spent on the road back and forth from the hospital.
