Donna called me this morning!! I was the only one she could think of who would be awake LOL...
She's so tired and worn. Still in fairly good spirits though, considering.
She says Brian is very confused. He doesn't understand where he is, why he's there. He's being rather uncooperative as well. She can't leave him alone, and he fights with the nurses.

I felt terrible. All I could say was, "I love you and I'm praying"...not much use. I think she just needed to talk with someone who's not there kwim?
I'm going to call her later just to say hello..a bit of a distraction.

Sandy, on the confusion, they've performed all of the various tests to rule out a head injury, right? Or do the doctors just think it's shock? I know my cousin has similar confusion and "fought" with the doctors/family about staying there, but his was due to head trama.

The doctors have said that that kind of confusion is normal after the kind of trauma Brian went though...but as far as I know, they have ruled out a head injury.

Agreed. It could be pain meds. I get that way with morphine. Every time I have had surgery and received morphine I became combative. When they used something else for the pain I was o.k.

Could be because he is sedated and heavily drugged right? That has got to be confusing and scary for Brian. [&o] I am glad that Donna called you.

With VBS going on right now, mornings are a bad time to all anyone here. I am glad that you available, Sandy.

I can see if a laptop would help, but many of the hospitals around here won't let you online. I would have to check into that.

Ah. Around here they all have Wi-Fi like McDonald's does, lol. It was very nice when we sat all day while my grandfather had heart surgery.

Praying Donna. Brian's behavior is likely a combination of trauma, surgery, and meds. It's a tough rope to walk, because he would be in sooo much pain if he didn't have them. But it's especially hard for family to see their loved one acting like someone they've never even met. ((((Donna, Brian, kiddos))))

just talked with her on the phone...he is still having some issues when he wakes up, not knowing where he is...but overall still doing ok. They did the surgery on his leg and arm...have them wrapped...still nothing on when they will deal with his hip though (his pelvis has a break).

Praise though is that the newspaper article says the tractor came into Brian's lane, and they get their info from the police....so they know it wasn't Brian's fault at all. That's one less stress for sure!!!

Donna may get on tomorrow night...her SIL is taking the night shift for her so she can go home and get a shower and some good sleep in a bed. She said she is having computer withdrawals, so I am guessing she will get on to check on things around here as soon as she can. She sounds good though...handling things pretty well.
