If you liked The Notebook, you may like Message in a Bottle. You might also like On Golden Pond.

Since when is "The Notebook" a really good clean movie? I had started a thread on this movie awhile back to find out if it's family friendly and was told it has a couple of sex scenes in it.

How about "One Night with the King"? Excellent movie! Or how about "The Final Inquiry"? Another excellent movie!

Recent movies - none really worth mentioning. However - there was 10,000 BC - there was no sex, no foul language that I remember hearing and the blood and violence was not excessive. It was a good action movie. Other movies - Ben-Hur. It came out in 1959 but today it holds up as an excellent movie. Why I like it - lots of action, good story line that neatly revolves around the story of Christ. They don't make movies like that anymore which is sad.

Well I can think of clean stuff but nothing like the Notebook (I'm guessing youre looking for romantic/romantic comedy movies?). I think Big Fish was pretty clean. Its a bit old now but you may like that. For some reason whenever I think The Notebook, Big Fish always comes to mind thought they aren't really similar. But you still may like it.

I love Big Fish. I even have the DVD. The show Pushing Daisies kinda remind me of Big Fish- not the story but just the quirky stuff.

The Notebook wasn't really clean. They had 2 sex scenes and some making out and swear words. I really like The Lakehouse. Or Pride and Prejudice (my fave!)

Yes I have two I recommend. The first one is called "I am David" It's a real tear jerker, but a clean good hearted movie. I dont know if I would let children watch it because war is involved in the film. A second good Christian movie is called 'The Sin Eater.' I recently saw it and it also made me cry.

To the OP- Exactly what kind of movie are you looking for? Are you looking for a romantic movie? I guess I could see why The Notebook could be 'clean' because without the sex scenes (and the TV version did not show much of it), it showed a great commitment of love between 2 people which is very rare nowadays in movies and sad to say, real life.

I always thought as movies about self-sacrificial romances go, Shadowlands with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger was a very good one. And it has the advantage of being based on events in the life of C.S. Lewis. Be warned though - even though it is very 'clean' by all standards, two buddies of mine were very upset at me for recommending it, since they balled like babies in the movie theater. But I believe for women that is often seen as a 'plus'.

Well, Citizen Kane is a masterpiece and is very clean. The same can go for 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove.
