Studebaker? Henry J? Kaiser? Packard?

You forgot the Hudson.

I winced when Miss Daisy wrecked that beautiful Hudson in the first few minutes of "Driving Miss Daisy"... it was a beautiful automobile..... it parted the waters as it rolled down the road effortlessly.... that HUGE steering wheel....wow

Check it out...

Beautiful car, I'd certainly feel safe with that much steel.

One of my uncles had three of them. One of them was the Hornet pictured here.

My dad had a DeSoto station wagon. I forget what year it was.

Gosh, why is this car so appealing....had a neighbor across the street in the late 50's ... beautiful green and white 4 door sedan....still though, gosh, it's the ugly duckling !

The interesting thing about those old cars is how much room you had with the open floor board and loooong bench seats. Now days, you get crammed into a bucket with a pint size hole for the pedals. I'm not a small fellow... not terribly over weight, just big and tall. I feel clostraphobic in today's "affordable cars". If there's a passenger in the back seat, then my knees are at my chest in a civic.

The first Hudson was made 100 years ago in 1909. The model 20 cost $900.
