I love this movie. I have it on VHS but no longer have a working VHS player. I need to get this on DVD.

I love that movie!!

...okay, I'm a little lacking in any discernible feeling at the moment. "Work-mode" has yet to wear off. I'll get back to you on that.

You hear that?

It's the sound of no 'me' time grating on my nerves. Okay, it's not that bad.

Munchkin is off at her dad's place for the night. It will actually make part of the birthday present a lot easier to prepare and put in place - a small mp3 player with its own speakers that will go out of reach in her room. I'll be sifting through the growing collection of classical music on my computer to suss out appropriate soothing themes. I already have a few personal favourites that are of this variety - i.e. The 'Meditation' from Thais, by Jules Massenet.

And I'm putting Brahm's 'Cradle Song' on there, for kicks.

Tz, thanks for the advice. I've bookmarked the site for reference.

Res, kids sleeping pattern change often. Mine is sleeping really early...even before sundown...and she doesn't even have school the next day. And did I mention that she's 12 . And she just finally started sleeping through the night two months ago. I'm finally getting a restful sleep . She never slept through the night until she turned 12!

Mine's been sleeping through the night since six months of age. ... Really, I've read that the average toddler sleeps anywhere between 10 -13 hours. She's been sleeping 12 hours consistently for ages! It's more out of my own need to have time for myself and to get other things done without interruption that her falling asleep at 8pm or later rather than by 7pm is bothering me, considering she gets up by 6 or 6:30 (either she wakes up or I wake her up... whichever happens first). It'll all sort out soon enough, I'm sure.

... jealous! ... DS slept 6 hours a night on a good night -- from 6 weeks to last weekend when he was home. We finally had to agree that he would go to bed and read until he needed to sleep because I needed "mama time" and at least 8 hours a night. I also noticed he needed a bit more sleep during growing season and less sleep during growing rests. I was exhausted until he left home.

But I'm going to try to be a little productive. I didn't study last night and hung out here at CW all night. Now, I'm feeling guilty.

Sunburned!

We had another great daddy daughter day on teh lake but I forgot to renew our sunscreen. Both of us got sunburned. She's already tanning (she tans really really quickly) so it should be too bad for her. But I'm hurting.

I've got to remember to keep her slathered in the stuff!

Today we ate the last of the white chocolate covered pretzels from the GT

Oh those are yummy.

Try taking a small pretzel and placing a rolo on top and microwaving it for about 10 to 15 seconds to soften it and then place a pecan on top and eat. Oh Heaven on earth. lol

Have your daughter slather you with aloe. Believe me it helps!

Next best thing next to cold towels or a cold bath or shower to take the sting out. Don't put anything greasy on it. That will only keep the heat in.

But you probably know this. Your a smart guy.

I just like being helpful.

Good day. Ofcourse any day starts out good when you get to sleep in. I don't get that during the school year and the kids keep me going the rest of the time, but I got something crossed off my to do list so it's a great day.

...exhausted. I've only been on the clock for two hours and I've already been cursed at three times. The person before got swamped and had to switch people's rooms because a grid of our air conditioning went out. So the rooms got switched as in the people moved but it didn't get switched in the system or our reg. card area so I checked in a guest to a room there were already guests in and had to barge in. I felt horrible and then I went downstairs and there was no record of anyone in the room so after I switched the one guest I had to re-call two rooms both of whom cursed at me. The second room then lectured me and told me it was my fault when I'd only been there for half an hour and that their kids were going to suck at the soccer game and if they lost I'd ruin their childhood. All of this happened immediately after dealing with some deaf guests where I had to call four different support agencies to figure out their reservation and then...and then...and then. and it's just been like that ever since I walked in the door. I like to think I have a pretty tough shell when it comes to business but I always struggle when people start throwing the f-word at me. Let's see...that brings the curse count for the week up to 5 guests and 1 date.

...a wee bit embarrassed. I set off the smoke detector at home and the police came and knocked on my door..and it was just a moment that would not make paula deen proud.

...lonesome. i miss my julie. we haven't gotten a chance to talk since she left for seattle.

...that despite these no good very bad few circumstances, i still feel really blessed and really thankful. this week i got to interview an egyptian arcaheologist and a deputy prosecutor and miss america!

....in the past week I've also felt quite a change...I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced it before but I have been looking in the mirror more and it's not a vanity thing but when I do I am overcome with this, "yes that is you dearheart" sense of love kind of moment. It's like I am seeing myself through a new set of eyes in a new way that I have never done before..what this means? I don't yet know...

Oh Reba. . . that's awful! No one deserves to be sworn at once, let alone six times. . . Tough skin only goes so far. I hope the rest of your shift goes better and that you can stay awake.

Thanks for all the hugs guys. Sorry, I don't comment in this thread often, but I do go in it to check how you're all doing and pray for you during my prayer walks.

I really could use a hug. I'm being tested for the swine flu and had been ordered to stay at home for the next two weeks. I've been very very tired for the past few days. My flu that started a month ago has gotten worst, and I was finally sent for testing. It's maddening that when I saw a different doctor two weeks ago, he didn't do any test and just sent me home with prescriptions. I wasn't too worried, until my doctor handed me a mask and said "I'm done work for two weeks" and I have to stay indoors and I'm displaying all the symptoms. She ruled out pneumonia and bronchitis. So far, our province has reported 400 cases of the swine flu, with 3 deaths in the last month.

My daughter is fine. SHe got better after a couple of weeks without medication. I'm really happy about that. At least, this is really making me examine my life and look at what's really important. Please pray for me when you remember. I know that God is faithful and gracious and He will not leave us nor forsake us in times like this.

Please pray for me when you remember.

I am praying for you, Prairiehiker.
I pray God will give you a speedy recovery and you will get well soon.

Please keep us updated on your situation when possible.
I'd recommend posting your prayer request in the Prayer and Praise Reports folder if you haven't already. There are lots of good prayer warriors there to pray for you.

Edited message:
I see that you did already post in the P&PR folder.
I'll put a link here for others to use: Link

(((((PrairieH)))))...When will you get the report back? And are you on medication now anyway? Regardless of what it's called, you have been sick a long time, and sometimes our bodies just need a boost.

((((reba)))) It's really not nice to be yelled at... but wow! For me, those interviews overshadow the bad by far! Who are you reporting for? Just to have the opportunity to interview them is awesome! You rock!

Thanks, Blue, Pruned and Matthew. I'll keep you guys posted. My cat, my daughter and I will do some heavy bonding since we're all stuck at home . And I can still go out every day and do my prayer walks. There's a really beautiful trail just a km away from my place, and that's where I do all my prayers and meditation daily. I'm grateful for the chance to rest.

...like I'm in deeeeeeeeeeep thought after watching a video a friend of mine posted to her Facebook page. She and her friend were talking about Christianity, and some of the stuff they said was....bold. Some of it I agree with, but IDK, it was a lot to take in.

...like I'm going to be sooooooo very bored the next few weeks. Pretty much EVERY SINGLE ONE of my closest friends and family are leaving for at least a week....
