Way to go PH!!!! I'm so glad to hear that you are starting to heal from this. I know that it still hurts, but even the painful things are God's gift to us - He saves us from so much - and when you do meet "the one" - whatever your definition (if he is one of many "ones" or the only "one" like in the other thread) - you'll be glad that this one bypassed you. I pray that you are feeling blessed today!

I'm feeling tired...I was up really late doing English homework for college. I've just been tired all week, I need God to give me strength to make it until fall break!

Right now I feel hopeful. I've got a lot to do today so I can't spend too much more time online. I did go for a walk though - for about 45 minutes (woo hoo!) I haven't been excercising much recently so it was good to do that. I was just reflecting on something God showed me on Sunday. There was a guy at bible study who really was seeking God - it was very refreshing to see this even as he was in the midst of a lot of change in his life. I felt like God was showing me something about the type of heart that I should be looking for in a husband. He wasn't showing me this particular guy - this was just a very young man who was seeking God with all of his heart. There is so much sorrow and hardness that comes with that level of seeking - particularly in the beginning - I have been there and understood where he was. I just wanted to encourage him to let him know that he was on the right track and that it would not be that way always. But I believe that God has another man for me - with the same type of heart and hunger. I felt like in a way, that the Lord was allowing me to see this guy as an object lesson for me.
When I went to the sanctuary, he followed me and started to sit by me, then he moved to another seat in another row. I was sitting in church enjoying the service, when about 15 minutes later, the usher came and moved him back next to me (it was kind of a wierd move - he was originally seated kind of far away - but I think that she was trying to fill in gaps for the television broadcast). Anyway, I felt like God was showing me through this, that as I follow the Lord - he will place people within my path (or place me within the path of those - or that "one" - that would be seeking him with all of his heart). It was the first time that I understood the thing that we always hear - run after the Lord as hard as you can, then look up and see who is running beside you. This isn't biblical, but this was the first time that I'd heard the Lord speak to me in this way - a metaphor come to life - and I found that to be so awesome!
So I was reflecting on that, and feeling really hopeful about it.

I had a similar experience a while back when some of us here were doing a study on Haggai.
God was showing me the type of husband I would marry and what it meant for him to merge paths with mine........to come along beside me.
I was at a friday night praise and worshp service at a church not my own.
When God had a gentleman, someone I did not know, come along beside me, take my hand in his, and hold it while we worshipped....after the songs were over, he let go of my hand and walked away......never did he say a single word...........wow was that a powerful experience for me.......a powerful word from the Lord......a powerful picture of what it will look like when my husband comes along side me and we stand under open heavens together.
