I probably drink way too much tea, I am so thrilled that it is winter and I can start drinking tea again! I like orange pekoe with cream and sugar, right now it is on baby's black list along with coffee so I can't drink it.[&o]

I am a huge fan of herbal teas, I love most of the Celestial Seasonings, I probably have eight or nine boxes of different types. I got a Brewt last winter when I started drinking loose leaf teas and I had tons of fun this summer growing a few different herbs to try and make my own tea.

I drink oolong and green tea as well, and I love vanilla roobois (sp?) or raspberry roobois... I just love tea!

Royal.Fortress -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 12:36:08 PM)

mmmm ... I forgot about the rooibos .... I love rooibos chocolate tea! I also really like ginger peach for an herbal one!

isaacsmom -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 12:40:40 PM)

By inspiration of this thread -- I had Lipton French Vanilla tea this morning instead of coffee. [:D] With a spoonful of raw honey. Mmmm. Tasted desserty.

I'm sorry, when I said 'fally' I meant, chai tea that would remind you of 'fall' or 'autumn'. Like pumpkin pies, or apple pies or whatever. Does that make sense?

myka -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 6:06:04 PM)

Ooh, tea. I love teas. I especially like English Breakfast in the morning... and Tazo Zen green tea; at least right now.

Kathryn, are you looking for a chai concentrate or something else?

HomeSpunLady -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 6:37:35 PM)

Not necessarily, just a good, nice chai. Something hubby might like. You know, I don't know a whole lot about chai, maybe that's something that's the same, and there aren't many 'flavors' to it? I don't know. Educate me!

I've been drinking a lot of hot tea lately because I am fighting off either a cold or allergies. My throat has been sore and I have been coughing a lot. Its tough when your profession requires you to talk all day and you have throat issues![>:] I really looove Bigelow brand of Earl Grey tea! I put honey or a sugar substitute to sweeten it. I was visiting a friend over the weekend and she had Bigelow "Constant Comment" flavored tea and it had an orangy flavor. That was yummy, also. So far, I haven't found an herbal tea I like yet. I do like some of the Asian flavored teas. Honey is always best when sweetening hot tea! [:D]

Well, chai is a tea with a combination of spices in it (ginger, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, anise -- sometimes, I think it varies with each brand, too) that is served with milk. It comes in liquid concentrates which are combined with milk, instant powders, and tea bags. Most of the places that I have had chai used the liquid concentrates. Starbucks uses Tazo, which has a good amount of peppery taste to it. Republic of Tea is more gingery, and Oregon Chai is less spicy, although, there are different flavors of Oregon Chai. There are other brands with different flavors depending on the combination of spices. Tazo also has chai teabags that are used like regular teabags; as does Stash and Celestial Seasonings.

HisCovenant -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 9:56:39 PM)

I've used the Stash and Celestial Seasonings Chai, but I don't add steamed milk. The Stash is good, but nothing special. The Celestial Seasonings is spicy and strong, which I love. Some of their added chai flavors can be wonky, though. Like the one with chocolate is odd. Both brands are bagged.

Royal.Fortress -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/23/2008 10:20:17 PM)

I really enjoy this brand of Chai.

myka -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/26/2008 12:13:29 AM)

Kathryn, do you know what kind of chai your dh likes?

clag4christ -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/26/2008 5:01:11 PM)

Berryblossom White is a fantastic tea! Joel got it for me for my birthday (along with 5 other kinds of tea). It's one of my favorites now. He bought it at Target I believe. I got a tea sachet squeezer thingy and a tea leaf infuser from Bed, Bath & Beyond a couple of weeks ago. I can't wait to get some loose leaf tea to use now! [:)]

HomeSpunLady -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/26/2008 5:27:41 PM)

He just says that he likes a 'fall-y' type tea. I did end up ordering a chai online, we'll see if he likes it. I hope so.

HisCovenant -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/26/2008 6:05:02 PM)

Maybe you should start using the word "autumnal:" My husband fancies autumnal flavored tea. [;)]

I *love* the Chocolate Caramel Enchantment ... I add a tiny bit of cream and a packet of Stevia ...

MaybeTomorrow -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/27/2008 12:55:41 AM)

My favorite flavors are regular spiced chai and orange spice. Tazo Spiced Chai and Stash Orange Spice. Black teas seem to be my faves but unless it's orange, I'm not into the fruity flavors. Though, I like Earl Grey a lot and for some reason, the smell reminds me of fruit loops??? :) I've tried the vanilla chai and for some reason it just tastes nasty to me. Like an old stale cookie that's been sprinkled with cigarette ashes or something. Just weird and yuck.

I haven't had a red tea that I like yet, though I'm willing to try them all...just to see. I love citrus flavored white teas...but can't handle any other fruity flavors. Hmm...I'm seeing an anti fruit trend here.

Love plain green tea.

I usually sweeten my cups with honey or Splenda. With the Chai and Orange Spice, I will add some half and half if I have it. During the summer, I'll make a large glass of Orange Spice tea and add lots of ice - refreshing and comforting at the same time.

Someone recently gave me a tea ball. I haven't gotten to use it yet, but first chance I get, I'll find a tea shoppe and buy some loose leaf.

Zippy, you crack me up!

About "autumnal?" [8D]

Royal.Fortress -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/27/2008 1:57:19 PM)

Yep. Best. Word. Ever. I quite like the 'properness' of the sentence.

Sarah, I just found a celestial seasonings mandarin tea sampler that I had been avoiding because it sounded weird. I tried it based on your recommendation and it is YUMMY!! Thanks![:D]

luvmybirds -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (9/29/2008 12:35:50 PM)

I'm a tea lover :) Some of may favorites are:
Loose leaf fruit paradise
Loose leaf Southern Iced tea blend (I drink it hot. Really good because it had rose petals in it!)
Orange Ginger Mint (Settling to the stomach)
I LOVE Stash's mint tea
My all time favorite is Licorice root tea :)

rae_of_light -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (10/1/2008 1:02:11 PM)

For all those who like chai, you really have got to try brewing your own like people in India do. That is real chai, and there is just something really great about mixing up all the spices, and having the aroma fill your kitchen!

My favourite tea for every day is Orange Pekoe. Ever since the weather started changing, I've had a huge craving for it, and I drink it all the time. It's perfect for rainy fall days like today. I'm not really a fan of herbal teas, I used to drink them when I was younger, but my taste buds have changed. I drink green tea(steeped extra long!) with honey when I'm feeling... not so great about myself. It doesn't make me feel guilty, and it's easier on my stomach.

I checked in the grocery store and that is the one I bought that I thought tasted wierd. It had that artificial flavorings taste, like Jello has. It's like the flavors were too concentrated and didn't hit close to chocolate and caramel in the same way that strawberry Jello tastes nothing like a fresh strawberry.

I'd love to try that. Do you have a recipe?

isaacsmom -> RE: Tea Drinkers..... (10/1/2008 10:41:15 PM)

I bought a box of Celestial Seasonings Apple Cinnamon today, I used to buy it in college but hadn't bought it in years. It was[:'(]! It didn't taste like I remember. It tasted like red hots (you know, like the candy cinnamon?). I was expecting a smoother flavor. I was disappointed because I was really really in the mood for some autumnal tea! [;)][:D]
