Has anyone picked this up yet? What did you think? I was actually at the show in Chattanooga, and had a really good time. Overall, I thought it translated pretty well to the dvd. I am a bit confused by the backing vocals, though. I guess he was singing along with a track? (Maybe he was singing through a harmonizer, if there is such a thing.) I didn't care too much for that. I'm of the opinion that if you are playing live, you should be doing everything live (exception made for samples and things like that). Also, the chick on guitar apparently did not have a good monitor mix. Most of her harmonies were way off. I can't even stand to listen to the worship song they did. What a train wreck! I also think they need to utilize the vocal talent of the drummer more. She's got a great voice! At any rate, I'm interested in others' opinions.

I wonder if the backing vocals and the guitar harmonies were added after the fact? Most of those double live albums in the 70s were "sweetened" after the fact in the studio. I wonder if the same is done to the modern concert DVDs. As far as doing everything live I agree but that ship has sailed. Between the increase in the use of multiple vocal, guitar etc. tracks in the studio, the expectations of the public for an artist to sound as good live as in the studio (with the magic of studio trickery altering expectations) and the limitations on the budgets of touring acts (a vocal track is cheaper than another vocalist) I think times have changed. But thats just my own, novice opinion. I was commenting on the "live" issues, sorry I have not seen the DVD in question.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure John Cooper was singing with the original songs. I couldn't stand that. I agree, Jen Ledger has a great voice. I'm hoping that she'll be singing some in their next album. There were some other things i noticed when i watched it. Kory's microphone was turned down WAY too much. You could barely hear her! I think it had too much editing. It takes away the live feel. But other than that it was a pretty good live dvd. Especially since it was their first.
