thedivabrat -> thedivabrat's place (1/1/2009 1:58:11 PM)

Hi Y'all,

I have been visiting some of you for awhile now and thought I would invite you over to my place. All are welcome anytime, all the time, whenever. You can be serious or silly, raving or ranting, grumpy or glad, talkative or just listening, laughing or crying.

All are invited and are to be respected for being your own unique selves. So when there are differences or disagreements we will remain kind and thoughtful. That's the only rule--I don't like rules as a rule--be kind and forgiving and loving.

Now I have to go clean up the Christmas stuff and put it all away for next year--I will be back soon.

The door is always open--come on in

Of course we can do crafts! What kind do you like to do? I am getting ready to start crocheting an afghan for a friend's son and his soon to be wife.

thedivabrat -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/1/2009 3:37:52 PM)

Do y'all make New Years resolutions? I don't cause they are never kept by this woman. What I have been doing the last few years is finding a scripture for the year. I memorize it and study it throughout the year, not everyday but off and on. I look at the context and do application for myself and word studies and meditate or use it in prayer. This year my verse is Phil 1:9-11.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/1/2009 3:45:41 PM)

Awesome verse, DivaB!

I don't make resolutions neither.

I do review the past year to see where there was growth and where I missed the boat on that.

I also do set goals for myself for the coming year.

I like what you do; very life-changing, indeed.

I like to do the review thing too--but the goal thing just has me stymied. I have never made goals--so life has always just sort of "happened" for me.

humbleinspirit -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/1/2009 11:40:09 PM)

Hi Divabrat, like the new thread! No New Years Resolutions for me, I just keep up with the daily walk instead.

That in itself is a wonderful way to live. And thanks for stopping by--remember the door is always open.

Okey dokie Divabrat, you have a goodnight now and hope to catch ya here over the weekend! [:)]

LOL - I'm kinda both. I make goals, but I also very much believe in living one-day-at-a-time.

Hey Mike.

thedivabrat -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/2/2009 11:37:51 AM)

Whoa you get up early Sharon-Marie--

I'll be around after work this week end--work sure gets in the way of -- everything.

Thinking about getting up early---I don't seem to have a problem getting up early on my days off--even enjoy it--but the days I work it is a real struggle to leave the blankets. Anybody else have that happening to them?

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/2/2009 12:26:14 PM)

I got up at 3:30 this morning, DivaB.

It wasn't planned.

LOL

Welcome to my place. Can we be crafty? Hmmmm--oh why not.

humbleinspirit -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/3/2009 2:51:30 PM)

Getting up too early can adversely affect getting up for work on time or being able to work as well.[&:]

Divabrat, what do you do for work? I may have asked that already, but just wondering.

Hey Mike, good to see you. Hope you are having a pleasant Sat. I am a design consultant at a home store. Also do some clerical work.
What do you do?

thedivabrat -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/3/2009 8:29:46 PM)

Here's a question for y'all -- what would be the perfect work for you to do? If you could do anything at all what would it be? And what would it take for you to actually do it? More schooling,moving to another place, courage to change, money...

humbleinspirit -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/3/2009 8:31:57 PM)

Hi Divabrat, probably working in or around broadcasting, radio specifically. Not really sure exactly what, maybe working either in programming/marketing or on air. I do remember a few years ago, I went to a free voice over seminar. I never felt more alive!

utilityfielder -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/3/2009 8:33:36 PM)

Since I will be leaving the job that I have had for 28 years in March. My perfect job would be something halftime. I would be earning some money to go with my retirement and I would still have time to pursue other activities.

How could you make this happen? Is it something you could do part time? I think the voice over thing would be fun. I would like to be the person in a costume--like at a theme park. I could be as funny or foolish acting as I wanted and no one would know it was plain ole me.

humbleinspirit -> RE: thedivabrat's place (1/3/2009 8:36:34 PM)

Howdy Gary!
