My kids, husband, and myself are all on facebook. I really enjoy it for keeping in touch with family and friends.

I have noticed that most of the people my age (middle age) add people on as friends, who we know at least a little, or are related to. On the other hand, younger people seem to add anybody and everybody, almost. It is like a contest to see how many "friends" you can get. As my son said it, as long as they don't hate your guts, it's ok add them. Have you noticed this to?

What games do you like to play on facebook? My favorites right now, are geo challenge, bowling, & pet society

I've noticed this too. I think we all have. There is no way anyone has 454 friends. One girl I know has that many. And she says that only about 2 of them are real-life friends. There's no way you can keep in contact with that many people. A lot of people have all their old school friends. All the way from elementary school. I've had some of my old "friends" add me. I will usually add them, but when I realize that they won't even say hi back I delete them. Pretty much they just want to look at my pictures I'm thinking. Some I don't even accept.

One girl was my bestest best friend for almost 10 years growing up. Her parents were best friends with my parents so we were always together. I hadn't talked to her in 10 years and found her on FB. We talked for a bit and then for 5 months straight she didn't email me back. Then out of the blue she tells me that she and her family are driving to our city to take a flight to BC. She asks if she can park her car at our house so that they don't have to pay to leave it at the airport. She then tells me that she won't have time to visit with us before they leave but they *might* have enough time for a coffee on their way back. Her family is well known for using people like this. I haven't seen her in 10 years, she doesn't email me back for 5 months and then out of the blue she thinks I will let her park her car here? Laughable. I deleted her.

I don't really play many games on FB. I like any ones with pets though. Go figure hey?

I have over 100 friends; most of them are family (I come from a LARGE family).

I only add people i know. I have a few co-workers on there, and a large share of CWers/FCNers. I have some HS friends and college friends on there as well.

There are a few of them who don't really interact with me so much (I'm assuming they have me blocked on a lot of things they do, because I NEVER see status updates or photos or anything from them), and that's fine. One person I only added because she headed up my class reunion last summer. We were never friends in HS and I never expected to talk to her again. But she and I have chatted back and forth a few times in the last couple months. It really surprised me. But then people I considered really close friends from church growing up hardly give me the time of day. It's interesting what happens as one gets older.

It's not just kids adding people to their lists so they can have a whole lot of friends. I'm in my late 20's and have friends my age and older who are doing this. Two of my friends were having a competition to see who could get to 500 friends and then 1000 friends first.

I've had people try to add me just because we have a couple mutual friends. One person said we knew each other from this group where she met our two mutual friends. But I wasn't a part of that group, I knew those people from high school. So it was obvious we had never even met.

When I signed up I added a lot of people who requested. A short while ago I deleted the people who I don't talk to on it. Since then a few of them, who never even said hello after I added them, have been trying to add me back. Now I'm ignoring them, which I should have done in the first place.

As for games - I like Wordscraper. I love playing Scrabble but my husband is not into it so it's nice to be able to play with friends.

Lexie, the same thing is happening to me. There were a few people I tried to talk to a couple of times. They didn't reply and I could see them talking back and forth with other people so I deleted them. No big deal. But now that they have noticed I am no longer on their friends list (months later) they have been trying to add me back. Sorry, but nope. I don't need to add people just so they can look at my pictures.

Some people are relentless though... Is there a way to block certain people?

I've deleted over 60 people so far. Some people from CW too. I didn't delete them to be rude, but if we weren't chatting on FB I didn't see the point. I can just talk to them here instead.

Christine, when we lived in our last town I added a few ladies from the church we were going to. I had a hard time talking to them in person (not my fault) so I thought that maybe they would prefer email. Nope. None of them ever wrote me back. Delete delete delete!

I have only people I know as friends. I lurk in Facebook, much like I lurk here! . I don't use many apps, though. I like flair and I started the dot game, graffiti and heroes but haven't done much with them.

I've noticed the 500 friends thing with some of the teens on FB (hubby and I are youth directors at church). I just checked and I have 198 friends (I had no idea until I looked, LOL). My friends are people I grew up with, went to high school with, went to Bible college with, went to church with, many many family members, etc. I talk with a very large number of them.

I don't play games or add any apps. Meh. I just like being social.

I have over 200 friends...I would say 2/3 are IRL friends, the others are friends from the 2 forums I post on (here and another)
I have had a few people I knew from high school ask to be added, and I agreed...only to delete them later. I have people added that I don't talk to too often, but I still consider friends. People from our various duty stations, high school, current station...ect.
I have had a few annoying requests for people to add me as a friend simply for pet society. Those are ignored. I go through every couple of months and delete those who don't talk to me often, or whom I just don't feel like having anymore LOL
I like scramble, scrabble, PS, soduko.

I don't talk to a lot of people on Facebook or myspace so I don't mind having them on there if they don't talk to me.

I have a few family members, a few friends from high school, and mostly church friends or CW friends on there.

I don't do the apps because I generally use the FB application on my phone and you can't play the games and all that through the phone. I do search out and send flairs to people though. I looooove those.

I could have posted this Christine. It was really surprising. Of course she talks to everyone so I get to spy on all the crazy 80s hair and update photos of all the people I don't really want to add.

I have @50-60 friends. I'm a friend minimalist. If we don't chat occasionally, out you go.

I don't have anyone from Crosswalk on there (other than Kuku who I know in real life). I play Geo Challenge and Pathwords mostly.

My SIL's have ALOT like over 250 each. They have alot from high school, people they knew in other churches, their current church people etc.
I don't add someone unless I know them well enough to let them see my life. Facebook to me is my personal space and if you don't talk with me, know me, then I won't add you or I will delete.

I like playing wordgames, scramble, pathwords, wordscraper, scrabble, and bowling and guess the sketch

I have 400+ friends, and that is after constantly weeding through them. And yes, I know all of them irl except for my CW friends. I've moved around so I've connected with a lot of people over the years. Old school friends - I generally only add the people I was actually friends with and desire to keep any contact with them.

I love the flairs app. But mostly I use fb to keep up with everyone.

I play "biggest brain," wordscraper, scramble and word twist the most. I like biggest brain because I don't have to initiate with anyone.

I had a message on my FB one day from my SIL's HS friend. HUH!?!?!? She recognized my last name (I think from being on someone's friend list she went to HS with) and asked if I knew my SIL. I said yes, then directed her to hubby. It was so weird.

I've been thinking of culling my list a bit, but haven't gotten to it. I DO like having my high school classmates on there, even if I don't talk to them. Of course, ours was a smallish high school (146 in my graduating class). I've currently got 156 friends.

I do have some CW people on there, but I don't like that I've got them added when I can't remember their forum name! And there's nowhere to add personal, private notes about people. I tried adding a "secret notes" app that promised to do that, but it must not be working since the format change. I posted a question about it and have gotten no response.

I DO NOT LIKE most of the applications on FB. I usually ignore or block them. I DO have Scrabble and play an occasional game, but I don't have much else.

I just checked and I have 120 friends. They are all people I know in real life or from crosswalk. Facebook has been great for my siblings and I because we don't live near each other, but we can still keep up with what everyone is doing. My sister lives in California and I live in Texas... she can't afford to come visit to see my 6 week old baby, but she has "seen" him via the videos my husband posts on his facebook.

I have to admit, though, that I am one of those people who doesn't always respond to other people I can check my e-mail at work, but facebook is blocked, so I'll often read my wall posts, messages and comments via e-mail notification, and then forget to reply when I get home. So... if I'm very sorry if I have ignored any of my CW friends on facebook... it was unintentional

Oh, and I don't play any of the games and I don't really like to IM either. But that's because I usually don't have more than a few minutes to check my facebook and I feel rude leaving 2 minutes after someone starts a conversation with me.

have noticed that young folks seem pretty willing to add anybody.

I ignore most of the game invites. No offense to anyone. I just don't have the time. One person was sendnig me 25-30 invites to something or other per day.

I ignore a lot of invites for applications. It's not that I'm trying to be rude to the people that send them, I'm just not on Facebook long enough to really use them. My SIL used to send me the craziest ones until I finally told her to stop. Even still I get ones from her but she's selective about the ones she thinks I would like. It's just when the applications don't come from Facebook, but outside sources, I'm kind of worried.

I still think one of the funniest friend requests I ever received was a guy from high school who said "we didn't talk to each other in high school but maybe we could start now." We had mutual friends so I added the guy. Did we ever say a word to each other?

Some people I block from sending me invites altogether.

One time I had a friend request from one of the friends of my niece. I had never met this girl before in my life. I declined.

Most of mine are my family, but there are several from here too.

I play Scrabble, PetSociety, BowlingBuddies and MyFarm.

My avatar is my PetSociety pet, Squirt.

I am loving facebook. I grew up in a church with like 50 youth. When I left, I was not able to speak to people at that church anymore. Now, 10 years later, I am able to catch up with people that I have not spoken to in so long, but have such a special place in my heart.

It does not help to see people from my pre-K & K SS class are in high school or graduating. Or the kids from my jr high youth married with kids.

I am a Facebook Scrabble addict. LOL...have no one to play with IRL, so I love to play that on there.

Most of my friends are from here or are family, some old school friends. I like having family on there because they can see how things are going with Brian and some of them we only see once or twice a year, if that. I've also gotten closer to a couple cousins because of FB.

I ignore a lot of requests/applications. I started out doing them all, but now just do the ones I like.

Tinkerbell, I love your latest avatar. Ha!
