For the government we seek changes that will safely enable the spreading of the Gospel making a way for missionaries to come and for the distribution of the Somali Bible.
For the small percentage of Christians living in that country please protect them, encourage them as they endure this mission and bless them abundantly.
By the power of the Holy Spirit may they witness effectively to their neighbors increasing Your flock.

And forgive me, for forgetting those in AMERICA. I have never been so hated for my simple faith. It is a new experience at work.
How often I think America is immune to this. Less than 50% of our country even acknowledge being a Christian.

Thank you for calling so many to a relationship with you. Please protect Christians from persecution. Help them to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Help them so that they will not unwittingly draw persecution to themselves. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Father,
I am praying for the persecuted church that You will lift it up and give supernatural strength.
Lord, please provide encouragement and comfort to Christians undergoing any kind of persecution.
I also pray for their oppressors that they will come to know Jesus as Savior.
I pray for nations that foster persecution that they will turn from their evil policies and methods.
Please change the heart of every person in any country who ignores the persecution.
Let them become foot soldiers in your Kingdom to pray for and get involved in the lives
of those being persecuted. Let them speak out against evil.
I believe we will be dealing with persecution in America within this generation.
Strength us and protect us from the evil one's twisted plans for our nation and for Your children.
Lord, help each of us to stay faithful to You no matter the cost. Release every Christian from
torture and mistreatment in accordance with Your will. Be with the families of those being
tortured and help them every step of the way as they also are in harm's way. Help them
as they grieve for their loved ones.
Father, have mercy.

According to opendoorsusa.org Maldives ranks 6th on their World Watch List of countries that are the worst persecutors of Christians.
persecution.net reports: This 500-mile-long string of 1,200 islands in the Indian Ocean ... It is estimated that Christians make up 0.1 percent of Maldives’ population. The government denies the existence of any religion other than Sunni Islam. In 1998, all known Christian foreigners were expelled from the country, and all known Maldivian Christians were arrested and released only after intense international pressure. Maldivians who become Christians abroad have been known to disappear when they return home, never to be heard from again. On November 29, 2008, Maldives’ Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced that it would block access to a Dhivehi and English language website upon claims that it promoted Christianity amongst Maldivians.
* Pray for protection and safety for Christians living in Maldives.
* Pray that those Christians in the country will be wise and yet bold in the way they share the Gospel of Christ with those around them.
* Pray that the religious freedom of Maldivian Christians will be recognized.
