Hey, who am I to argue? Love it. I don't remember when I weighed what's on my license, yikes. I wish I weighed that now. Speaking of weight, say a quick prayer for me and my sister as we really need to get our weight down. She's got very bad knees and I don't want to get that way. I'm starting to excersise and watch what I eat, but I tend to be ever so lazy.

we (in Texas) had to give our weight when applying for a license. I protested. The lady on the other side of the counter said, "it doesn't really matter, you can tell me whatever you want, and I'll enter it." I still questioned her, and said, "then why do you need it at all" She said, "don't worry, it doesn't actually show on your license" This prompted me to ask again, "they why do you need it at all?" She said, "it may not show on your license, but it will show when they look up your license if you are ever pulled over or have to give your license for anything with the police." I gave her an estimate. I don't know what it was. I don't remember, and I can't see it to remember either. =) Height is listed on the license.

Our weight here is listed on our license. It was in Maryland too. I think I changed it from "118"(haven't seen that since my sophomore year of highschool) to 135lbs when we moved to Colorado. I'll be lucky if I ever see 135lbs again, but it can stay on there for now.

Mine is a few pounds light, but not too far off. How long before yours expire? Here in AZ, we get our licenses until we turn 65. No joke. I got mine in 2005 when we moved here from MI, and it expires in 2047

Our licenses expire every four years. Our weight does show on the license.

I think ours are good for 5 years, but I would have to go look to see.

I know we discussed this case earlier in Kicka, but the Supreme Court has ruled that the strip search of a 13 year old girl suspected of possessing ibuprofen was unreasonable. Thank goodness for a little common sense. The court further ruled that she cannot sue the individuals who searched her, but she can sue the school board who drafted the policies that the individuals were working under. Not sure that would do a whole lot of good, but it's what she can do now.

It must vary by state, because as far as I know I've never been asked for my weight on my driver's license (in Arkansas). We have to renew ours every four years, on our birthday.

It sounds like the dumbest thing to give your weight. That can change so frequently. Here in Australia you only give your height when you first apply. Its not shown on your licence. Licences can go from 1 to 10 years. I just do mine yearly because I don't want to pay for the 10 year one upfront, and I like having a new pic done :P

I didn't know either...I've only ever had a NV license...even though I've lived a zillion other places.

Not everyone's weight changes a significant amount yearly. We also have to put on there whether or not we have to wear corrective lenses. For a lot of people that can change from year to year. There are a lot of things about us that can change from year to year without making a drastic difference in our overall physical description. I just had a thought.......... what if we had to change our DL everytime we changed hairstyles? Some women could go 25 years and never have to change it, while others would have to go in every two weeks.

I wonder if that might be it. With the budget issues it does seem like an awfully large source of revenue that they aren't cashing in on, since in most other states' licenses seem to be good for 4-5 years before needing to be renewed (and pay a fee). Not that they could make it retroactive, but with newly issued licenses make them good for 5 years.

My biggest issue is what to put for hair color. Red? Blonde? Light brown? I'm currently a redhead, but most often have been blonde although my natural color(now) is lightish brown.

when I lived in Pa we didn't have to give a weight, and one wasn't recorded on the license itself either. Those were good for 4 years. I had to "surrender" my license for Pa when I applied for a Tx one. I don't understand that. When it wasn't valid anymore in Pa they just punched a hole through it. So, I don't have that one anymore... but I do have my original. =) Here in Tx they are good for 6 years.

I haven't really known anyone apart from where a miracle has occurred that has had glasses and then no longer. Here contacts are considered corrective lenses so if that's what you mean, the person is still using something to help their eyesight. Gosh you have to put down hair colour. Dumb.
