Just reflecting on the thought that we all have our own little zone of people we connect with.
An encouraging song!

Today, my 13th baby started classes.

Before Spring break, i learned he was coming, and so started telling my other little ones a new friend was coming in today. Well, yesterday all during centers and circle time, the little ones kept talking about their new friend, kept asking me if he was coming......They'd be like, When is our new friend coming?!?!?! I was sooooooooooo proud of my little ducks.......they were soo excited about a new friend. And today, i thought the bus situation wasnt working out, so i was like, He is coming tomorrow. The kids looked visibly upset! It was the most precious thing. Well, momma got things straightened out, so he came in during circle time, came in w/the speech teacher whom he knows, and promptly started crying! The kids looked again visably upset! We found our box of kleenex's (not where they should of been)....lol And i held him, while the class sang some songs......they forgot to do any of the motions, this is a song they ALL love! lol as they were looking and watching our new little friend. Well......he liked the CD Case, and our CD's.....and as i got another song the kids really enjoy, i sat him down on the rug on his little shape, w/his friends and the other little ones started patting his back and telling him not to cry!

This all came from a bunch of 12 3-5 year olds!

What love was shown our new little monster!!! What a blessing i can see such kindness!
love it, love it, love it!

Rosie, your story about the new little one in class was so great! Ah, this is love! This is kindness! This is acceptance! You do have such a gift for reaching these kids. I hope you will either be teaching them again next year, or teaching teachers how to love like you do. Lucky, lucky kids to have had you with them all year!

Oh, Rosie! Your story about your new student was SO CUTE! LOVED IT!

Last night, had the biggest smile ever! The teens and some of the other leaders were going to play dodgeball after church and when I said I was playing they looked at me and said "Are you sure? We don't want to hurt you!" Needless to say, I played alright...I got out my friend Ry, and then CR, and while he was standing there shocked that I had just taken them both out...SB! It was so funny! I got out right after that and I walked by where they were standing and said, "Now boys, that would be how we girls play dodgeball! " Everybody started laughing, especially since those three are the ones who were afraid they'd hurt me?! Too funny...

I also smiled last night when one of the younger girls that I had in my group at camp last year was asking if I was going to be their leader again, when I asked her why, she said because I was her favorite leader ever...and when I told her yes, she squealed and gave me a hug...it was really sweet!

well, i'm smiling.....again, just cuz.

I was talking to my mentor teacher, we were w/another teacher going over what is going on in our little pod. My mentor teacher, didnt, "Get Me"........everytime i talked about my feelings she pushed them aside, and talked about the bigger picture.

Which is fine.......and something i try to hold onto......

But......

The still doesnt negate the fact that i do have feelings that are going haywire.......

anywayz......

After my mentor teacher left, the other teacher and i were talking and she was like, I totally understand what u r feeling, i had a similar experience, and this is what happened.......
I could put this in the Do u understand me, thread. But wanted to write it here.
Whatever the outcome is.......i have come away w/a couple of lessons(some i've learned before and just needed to be brushed up on) totally unrelated to being laid off.......and the biggest one is........My feelings, your feelings at the moment are my feelings and your feelings.....they should be validated. And actually validating your feelings does help in the whole process of moving forward. Sometimes i actually think this holds people back becuz they find themselves fighting to be heard.......and in that process go over and over everything, instead of realizing u have feelings acknowledging this, and moving forward.

I've had some wonderful smiles yesterday and today. My DS1 and Grandkids came to have lunch with me yesterday. My Granddaughter didn't want to leave , she "wanted to stay with Grandma"- so I took the rest of the afternoon off, stopped at the grocery store and bought diapers and then we went down to the lake to throw rocks in the lake! We had so much fun!! It was at least an hour to an hour and a half of throwing rocks... then we came home and did "girly" things like paint her fingernails for the first time .

Then I had to bring her home today... . But she wants to come back and throw rocks again.

And that makes me SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awww..........lol that is awesome!

Reminds me of a story, when i worked for a shelter for kids, the shelter was across the street from the public library which had a huge lake behind the library. Me and education were still hand in hand back then. We'd take old mangy bread, go and look at books and toys in the children's section, and then go and feed the ducks!

Well, this was like my first week there i was just getting the ropes with the kids, and we go to the lake to feed the ducks and some of the kids get upset with each other, and they ended up pushing each other into the lake! Goodness, i was hoooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrified! Think big alligators! Yep they were there in the lake!

Well, after that we never went back unless we were behind the fence!

Horrible day! lol

Glad no one ended up in the lake!

I've never even came across a thread about what makes me smile but just finding about this added to my smile. There are a couple reasons why I smile and one of them are:

The smiles of my nephews
The courtesy of random people
The weather today was beautiful
The strength God is giving me everyday

I guess to summarize this plus more, it's the endless blessings the Almighty God is showering upon me. I'm smiling because God loves me and I love God.

Smiling because I was able to spend time w/ my daddy & his wife

It's so fun to be with them. He's recovering from hip replacement -- it's wonderful to watch him getting around so well now! And fun to talk theology with him.

And she had a stroke 3 yrs ago, she is still smart as a whip, but she gets things mixed up & backwards....
so this morning she told my dad to "put that in your smoke & hat it" ....then she asked me to find her *ss -- she meant to say glasses!! We had some good laughs

Yep. God is good.

Man, am i in need of smiles!!!!!

I do not know what has gotten into me lately. Well, i do know........its all this pressure about this job. Do i have it, or do i not have it?!?!?! As i was writing my lesson plans for this week, i just broke down. In my head, i've done this time and time, your will be done. But, then my actions would totally rest in the fact that this is what i believed. I see all of the possibilities of ministry, to the children and families in my class, esp. now that I have a year under my belt. But, still the only thing for sure i can go back to, is if the Lord wants me here, he will make the way. And if the Lord wants me somewhere else, He will make a way.

I've been thinking about the smile thread lately Rosie, I'm glad you brought it "back".

Right now I'm almost too tired to smile, but I had lots of wonderful Mother's day smiles today!

Rosie, I'll keep your job situation in prayer - I know the Lord will use you somewhere, and you love teaching and those kids so much .. I hope you will know something soon.

Smiles from yesterday(Mother's day):
Waking up at 3 am and seeing my DS1 up too- and talking until 4:30 am . But it was nice to have the time with him.

The grandkids being so excited because we went shopping and bought Mommy a present - & signing the card in crayon.

Grandson waking me up at 6 am by rolling up the shade on his window so the sun would come in... (even though I was up til 4:30 talking to DS).

Granddaughter waking up by a little before 7am, and barely being able to wait til 7:30 to go wake mommy and give her the gift.

Going out for breakfast with all of them and seeing my Godmother in the afternoon.

And last but not least, coming home and DS2 offering to make me dinner and having a nice Mother's Day card for me.

Smiles for today - like Shallbe said, having a place to share the smiles!
