What are your favorite Christian themed movies and what do you love about them, what makes them your favorite?

I just saw a private screening of a trailer for a movie film composer Michael J Lewis is developing, all about love and sacrifice and forgiveness and it got me thinking about how stories can change our lives. I really enjoy "Evan Almighty"

A wonderful Christian story told with humour.

please tell me what you felt about it. I am in tears half the times i watch it. when i am down, that movie uplifts me.

the movie is loosely based on Job and in same account Jesus. when Satan was given control to do all could to bring down Job. or when Jesus was in the desert for 40 days, the temptations and the trials they faced is almost modernized.

Wager is probably my all time fave movie

August Rush. Not a Christian movie per se, but when that little kid is playing his guitar, I picture David worshipping with all his heart (especially when his dad joins in). What an amazing, uplifitng film.

Fireproof
The Passion of the Christ
And Monty Python and the Holy Grail has some Christian refrences, but I'm not exactly sure if it's a Christian movie.

All the Tyler Perry movies. His themes of "reaping and sowing" and forgiveness are told well with drama and humor.

Fireproof - makes me want to strengthen my own marriage

The most recent one I've seen is Fireproof! Absolutely loved it...makes me want to strive to be the best wife I can be! Walk to Remember was my all time favorite movie for a real long time though! And of course The Passion of Christ!!!

I can't forget The Ultimate Gift. That was most excellent!!!

I liked the Hallmark versions of Janette Oakes' books as well.

Passion of the Christ (every time I watch this movie, it helps me have a truer understanding of what Christ went through for me)

St. John in Exile with Dean Jones.
An Incredible movie.
Words cannot express how awesome the worship scenes were.

The Chronicles of Narnia the Lion the Witch and the Wardobe. I really enjoy the movie especially Aslayn death and resurrection which represented Christ death and resurrection for our sins.

Facing the Giants and The Chronicles of Narnia.
I even have the two soundtracks for the Narnia movie and the DVD.

I was starting to wonder if anyone was going to mention this.

I'm also surprised that no one mentioned The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Maybe it's because LOTR was never intended to be a "Christian themed" anything. Tolkien repeatedly stressed this fact. Just because it's good vs. evil doesn't make it Christian themed.
