I just remembered. I wrote a poem about flight 93, a few days or so, after the fateful day. FWIW, I offer it, as a tribute to the truth of that day, and not the subliminal poke in the eye, offered by the lay-out of the memorial. I offered to let Oprah use it, but she never responded, so I guess it wasn't good enough for her show. Oh, Well. Hope you guys enjoy the read:
Flight 93

You wake up in the morning, an ordinary Joe,
preparing for the routine, of a young man on the go.
Shower, shave, and brush the teeth, you pack your bag to leave,
tell your wife and kids goodbye, brush talcum from your sleeve.
The taxi ride is routine, to where you’ll go aloft,
the sun is lighting up the sky, and clouds are white and soft.
You feel the plane lift from the ground, and preflight jitters fade.
Great wife, kids, and job, you think, ‘I really have it made.’
Minutes into flight time, you get the fateful hijack news,
crazy people now control the fate of passengers and crew.
You think: ‘Because of history, they’ll fly somewhere else and land,
and what a story I’ll have tell, if nothing else gets out of hand.’
‘They’ll rant and rave excessively, and ransom they’ll demand,
or call for the release from jail somewhere, members of their band.’
Nervousness is soon replaced, with total abject fear,
when flight crew and the pilots, are pushed roughly to the rear.
The pilot says that something’s wrong, the plane a hijacker now will fly,
but if he doesn’t do it right, then everyone will die.
Your cell phone’s in your pocket, surprisingly it works,
so, you call you wife to tell her you’ve been hijacked by some jerks.
She tells you, with a deep concern, Twin Towers have been struck,
and then you know, beyond a doubt, you’ve all run out of luck.
The plane has over fifty souls, D.C. has thousands more,
so the choice is simply who must die, from this heinous act of war.
You tell your wife you love her, but you have a job to do,
your going to take the airplane back, and subdue those crazy few.
You tell her that you may not live, for something may go wrong,
because, these people don’t want money, they want to kill our freedom song.
The last words that your wife will hear brands freedoms corporate soul,
the battle cry, no better said, than when you said: ‘Let’s Roll.’
A spectator you no longer are, your hearts hear drum and fife,
as something must be done, and quick, to save more innocent life.
Into freedoms history, and shirking not, you charge,
Bad guy lose, good guys win, but the price was very large.
You all brought us together, that very fateful day,
the standard raised for “Patriot,” you few set high that day.
Rest well, you friends of country, God bless, and keep you well;
for the 9-11 killers: Spend your eternity in hell.

That's a beautiful poem. Have you sent this to some of the victim's family? I'm sure Tom Burnett would appreciate that because he is struggling with his son being "honored" with such a memorial. I think there's one or two other family members who do not like the design, but over all, most sadly accept it, including I believe Lisa Beamer, but your poem has nothing to do about the memorial anyway.
Generally speaking to all, as far as I am concerned, the families have been duped into believing at least two big lies and others that involve this memorial: the one is that they are talked into believing it is not an Islamic crescent but rather one of "embrace". Murdock and Company claims the Islamic crescent is based on a lunar crescent (a lie as a lunar crescent is not a circle arc within a circle, but rather elliptical in a circle) and that it does not point to Mecca (the average person has no idea that the middle east is in the same basic direction as London---- toward the northeast). They even had a "geospatial professor" say that the earth is round and to the effect there is no direction to Mecca. There are other components to it, such as the tower of voices acts as an Islamic sundial and other such hints.
The thing that concerns me is that had this "accidentally" been shaped like a cross or star of David, and pointed even near to Jerusalem, I'm sure the leftist media and henchmen would have vehemently argued that it was intentional. However, when something like a red crescent pointing to Mecca smacks one in the face, it's supposed to be "coincidence"? Even if it were, just the idea that some people made the association is merit enough to perhaps totally reconsider the design.

I thought I'd bump this thread up for an update. Apparently the Federal Government is not going to use the law of Eminent Domain (at least not yet) to seize, er, I mean take possession of the land for an abominable memorial shaped like the Islamic crescent that faces Northeast which is the direction to the Middle East, Mecca.

You can be rest assured that the main crescent and orientation will still be there. Paul Murdoch and company did a lot of politicking and put in too much cash to change the design.
Alec Rawls is the champion who opposes the design with his blog: http://www.errortheory.blogspot.com/
He has other related material on his blog, but he is most well known to be an outspoken critic of the design. I must confess, it was a lone and almost inconspicuous newspaper article that pointed out Rawls and Tom Burnett Sr opposing the design. Otherwise, the mainline media just kept this quiet while they try to slip this thru. I would have been amongst the happy, ignorant fools thinking this is the "patriotic" thing to do. My own mathematical calculations confirmed the orientation that Rawls stated and I was convinced it was more than coincidence. And now the people who own the fields are supposed to give up their birthright and inheritance just because the government wants this to go thru? Incredible. (i.e to think this is America any longer) I think the terrorists actually won the battle of the wills and mind games.
