My brother and sister-in-law went on their honeymoon in Tennessee ... I never would have thought of that, but it was beautiful and they really liked it. Little shops and restaurants to go to, and their cabin had a hot tub on the balcony overlooking the smokey mountains.

My parents went later, and came back and said that would be a must for me someday. They did some hiking and took the most AMAZING pictures. I hate to be a copy-cat, but I'd be all over following in family's footsteps :)

I forget the name of the town ... something with a P I think. AHA - Pigeon Forge.

Yep. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area is gorgeous, pretty much year round. And not too expensive... you can get some great deals.

Be sure to go to The Pancake Pantry. Yum-O!

There's a little "village" of shops on the same side of the street as Pancake Pantry. One of my fave is The Celtic Heritage -- a great little shop for all sorts of things Scots and Irish. Verbena's has a great collection of bath and body products. And there used to be a cute little tea shop in the same mini shopping area, but I'm not sure if it's still there or has other owners.

But, you are also talking about the young woman who thinks taking Sonic and eating it at the park would be totally romantic...what can I say...I just enjoy doing different things than most people! LOL!

I'm right there with ya - only mine was Sushi - but Sonic would be awesome too.

Hey! Sushi down on the boat would be great! Then I really could fish or cut bait!!

I know a couple couples that honeymooned there. It's like teh perfect honeymoon location. Quiet and secluded (the cabins have no neighbors) and breathtakingly beautiful, and yet close enough to enough attractions (Dollywood etc) to keep you busy all the time if you choose to be.

Everyone's loved it who's been.

Our church did a conference down there a few years back. Great place. Also has some great silver type shopping if you head over to Cherokee onthe other side of the mountains. Worth the drive

I think they went to the Pancake Pantry :) The Celtic Heritage sounds right up my ally too!

When they went, they did some silly things like Ripley's and Aquarium of the Smokies ... brought me back a bunch of frogs! How sweet is that for a new sister-in-law to think of you on her honeymoon? I love my family :)

Anywho - I'm adding Tennessee to my "date" list ... but I'm almost certain I'd like to honeymoon there.

Hiking or doing something equally as adventuresome outdoors. :) Spending good quality time together without the hindrances of regular life.

Fantasy dates....hmmmm....this is interesting.

If money were no object.......my date and I would jet over to Italy....Venice to be exact.....the plane ride would be full of great conversation, so I would probably have to hire someone to talk for me....since I am not a talker.... ....then upon landing we would be chauffeured to one of the nicest eateries in town which only serves local cuisine.....and of course after dinner, and some more great conversation, we would take a gondola ride...it would be a cool night, where we could cuddle up together...as we are serenaded, as we gaze in to the moonlit sky.

Hey, you said money was no object right...

May be a little over the top, huh....but hears to dreaming.

Ooohhh! I haven't responded to this thread yet! *dances*

Okay...I have a couple of different ideas so I'll try to combine them.

I'd like to start out at a real Irish pub and drink Guiness and eat fish and chips. After that we'd head to a Dallas Cowboys game and watch them WALLOP the Washington Redskins (or Green Bay Packers...I'm not picky). If we got hungry I wouldn't protest a dog and a beer. We'd follow that up with a trip to an amusement park and ride rides under the starlight.

Last we'd head to the local beach and take a long walk together under the moonlight and then curl up by a fire on the shore with a thick quilt and bottle of wine.

*sigh*

reading this I realise I'm kind of a lush...LOLOL

That's exactly what I was thinking as I read your post! You know. . . admission is the first step to recovery. . . LOL!

Hmmm. . . My fantasy date would be relatively simple. We'd leave early in the morning and drive to Chicago. There we'd browse Shedd Aquarium or the Museum of Science and Industry (I'd prefer the aqarium). Then we'd go stroll on Navy Pier and ride the ferris wheel. Dinner would be at The Cheesecake Factory in the Hancock Building where we'd view the city lights and the lake in the distance after dinner. Then we'd drive home. . .

It's official. . .I have too much time on my hands. . .

If I did it all the time I'd agree. But since I only do it occasionally I'm not too worried about it.

I was just teasing, Tink. I enjoy an ice cold beer or a glass of wine now and then too. And it usually runs in streaks. Your fantasy date just includes a streak!

A fantasy date? One where the father doesn't want me to be their personal mechanic that night! I am NOT a mechanic, but I still know cars. But it doesn't mean I want to strip down your engine or give you a tune-up!

I KNEW there was a plus side to my quirks!

Hey, just because she lives with her rents doesnt bother me. I am living with mine right now because of hard economic times. I still pay all my bills and am reliable...just can't afford my own place.

Hey, Blue, thanks for giving me some idea on what to visit when we're in Chicago at the end of the month. I've been to a couple of the places you mentioned, but never been to the other ones. I'll definitely put them in my list of things to do next month.

Only if I'm dating my husband.

I can't think of anything better than just being held maybe on a swing or in a hamock under the stars listening to the night noises. We don't have to be saying anything just holding eachother.
