perfect date is not at all about doing, it is about being, so my perfect date is perhaps overly simplistic, but I can't know what a perfect date is until I have actually been on one, and I thought I had all the necessary ingredients for a perfect date more than a couple times, surprisingly it never works out the way you plan it to. ........... most of the date would happen in my new remodeled bigger kitchen, but it would start at starbucks, then a trip to the grocery store where we would be imaginative and pick up all the ingredients to make a new and improved batch of party mix. the evening would be full of shared effort, ideas, good conversation, personality, laughter, freedom, and shared faith, a lot of being, and it would have an end.

ORIGINAL: John_O OK How's this one. An all day date. Rise early (get going at about 7:00 before the sun gets too hot) Take a brief stroll through the morning fog in the woods at a nearby state park, Stop to talk and smell the flowers, perhaps take some pictures when the moment is right for them. Stop for breakfast at some little out of the way hole-in-the-wall sort of restaurant. After breaakfast go grocery shopping together to get the days supplies. Then off to the boat for a lazy day on the water. Cruise the lake exploring little coves and backwaters, even beaching the boat and exploring interesting shores when the mood strikes us. (lunch on the boat whenever hunger strikes us) Cool ourselves with a swim or two, including some snuggle time in the shade of the boat. Let the lifejackets support us while we admire each other's faces and talk. The time for a lazy afternoon, just reading together, her resting back on me, or even just drowsing as the breeze slowly rocks the boat and the sun gently warms us. After rest/naptime we'll continue our cruise until the sun goes down, anchoring in some quiet cove and watching the setting sun paint the hillsides in a rosy glow. The stars slowly coming out to play and reminding us that God is with us at all times. As dusk settles we'd break out our picnic and share some good food, beverage of our choice and perhaps a dance in the waxing starlight. Then a slow cruise back to the dock with a promise to do it all again next weekend. (Note: since this is a fantasy mosquito's and other nasty pests are banished from the lake for the duration. Although I've yet to get a bite on the lake I don't want to take any chances) Perfect, absolutely perfect! and since it's fantasy, does that mean no sunburn either?

Great idea!! If you played a game (cards, board game, whatever) while munching on said mix, what game would you like to play? What game that you've not played yet would you like to try?

makarizo: that is kind of what i'd like to do...i have never had the opportunity to cook for a man and it's something i really really want to do. going out together to pick up supplies or me just having them already - doesn't matter. if he wants to help out, great - if not...him just sitting at the table while i'm running about in the kitchen is a-okay in my book. i already have so many meals pre-planned with plenty of sides and of course a lovely dessert that it should be a breeze. just spending time together and sharing a meal followed by just dancing in the living room or watching a movie would be just picture perfect for me. it'd be even more fun if we got all schmancied up for just a quiet evening at home together too! -reba.
