I've been noticing recently that a tide of subtle persecution has begun to rise against Christians in the West. Wihin nations that used to be classed as Christian nations. If anyone has any examples of this, i'd like to see them. To me it is the beginning of the rising of the beast system, end time persecutions on Christians and the beginning of fulfilment of scriptures that suggest the same. So it is more of a favor really. If you come across news items where Christians are being beaten, mocked, muzzled into silence, bullied or pressured to compromise their faith, I'd like to start to track and record. So, thanks for your co-operation gang :) Sonic (Mark) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- House agrees to muzzle pastors with 'hate crimes' plan Members of the U.S. House today approved a plan to create a federal "hate crimes" plan that will provide special protections to homosexuals and others with alternative sexual choices, but leave Christian ministers and pastors open to prosecution should their teachings be linked to any subsequent offense, by anyone, against a "gay." The vote was 249-175, and came despite intense Republican opposition to the creation of the privileged class. Jackson said the action puts "sexual orientation" in a specially protected class under federal law. "Based on history, it really isn't something that needs to be protected," he said. "There's a problem that this is going to mark the first time that a protected class status is given to … whatever sexual orientation one has." He said the experience in other countries has led to prosecution of Christians. In Sweden, for example, a minister was sentenced to 30 days in jail for preaching from Leviticus. http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=96595

Thanks Peter, I'm gonna make a file of all the ones I hear about. I wish I'd have started it 6 months ago. It's been increasing so fast since then. I don't know what it's like in the US but here it is getting scary.

There is probably a great deal more percecution going on that we are not aware of since it is most probably underreported. With our (USA) overly liberal media its a wonder that we hear anything at all.

And then we have cases of made up persecution like this: quote:
ORIGINAL: Peter_Gunn Here's one: U.S. military destroys soldier's Bibles When you read that headline, what was the first thing you thought? Did it match up with what actually happened in the story? I didn't think so. Service members are not allowed to proselytize (for good reason, too). That's exactly what these Bibles were for. Nowhere in that article does it state that his personal English-language Bible was destroyed. -Dan.

Mark, don't forget to add the Carrie Prejean thing to your file. Persecution for her beliefs are at the core of that story, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, there's some horrible persecution. She'll get a least a book deal, plus be a star on the Church speaking circuit. I'll take some of that persecution. Christians tend to confuse inconvenience with persecution.

Well, Jesus never promised us a rose garden . I really don't care if I get the persecution or not. I know Jesus will be there for me. kim quote:

Not a full or finished story at this point...just one to keep an eye on... Permit required for home worship group? And, yes...it's from WND. So, to all you naysayers who know we will never experience this sort of thing in the US of A, I apologize. I'm sure the rest of us are out of our minds.
