I've gotten a few preview issues and have really enjoyed them. Its been a few months since I've gotten one. I think what really piqued my interest in it was an article they did on Kate Gosselin (Jon and Kate Plus 8)....I would catch her show on TLC on occasion, but really got interested in her and her family when I realized how important her faith is to her and Jon. I just finished reading her book Multiple Blessings. She told many stories about how God has blessed her and helped that family. I had tears in my eyes.

I just read that TCW would cease publication with its September/October issue.

I also read Lisa Miller's (Newsweek's Religion editor) snarky comments about the closing of TCW. Given Newsweek's previous comments regarding Christianity, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

I read a couple of issues years ago.

Meh. Didn't really speak to me. But I'm not really their target audience.

I started getting really interested in them when I read her book Multiple Blessings and read how important faith was to them. Now with all the stuff about them in the media (affairs, greed, split up) it is really starting to make me wonder if it really is as important as she says it is.

I don't know, either. I try not to read the tabloids about it, but still... things aren't look good for them.

I haven't subscribed to this magazine... it's too bad that they're folding =(

I still haven't been able to find any thing about the magazine folding (except for what was said here). I really hope they don't because I just paid for a 3 year subscription. The magazine comes out every other month so I'm still waiting to get one.

Hm. In that case hopefully it is just a rumor.

it's not a rumor. you can search it and find press releases. unfortunately it seems the publisher is hiding this information to get more subscriptions if it's still not on their home page.

That kind of angers me a bit that they are soliciting for three year subscriptions when they know they are closing down shop. Wonder if I'll get a refund????

You will probably get the option to receive another publication. I subscribe to Discipleship Journal and they are stopping publication and sending Christianity Today for the remainder of my subscription.

I subscribed to this magazine for about 7 years. I haven't renewed in the last two years. I had reached a point where I (1) didn't have time to read it thoroughly since I was going back to school (2) was increasingly concerned that so many articles seemed more fluff than substance.

It does sound pretty bad that they are soliciting subscriptions if they are about to fold.

I got a few trial issues of Christianity Today, but didn't really care for it. If given the option I'd rather have the refund then CT. I've never heard of Discipleship Journal though.

Great....I finally find a women's magazine that doesn't have articles about how to pick up men or how to wow them in bed.....and it is cancelled! Great!

Over the years, I found this to be the case as well. Not nearly as good as it used to be. As a result, I no longer subscribe.

I was subscribed to TCW, but I'm only 22 and it didn't really apply to me. It's mainly for married women or women with children, at least that's what I felt because that's what most of the articles were about.

I finally got an issue in the mail. I wonder how much longer they are going to continue sending them out.

Duh! Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I must have forgotten about that.

I'm still a bit sad to be seeing this magazine go away. I do enjoy some of the articles.
